  1. 500 2 wins down, and 7 wins to go.
  2. Remember there is a new draft lottery for next year. The first 6 picks are from the lottery, and then it’s record after that. The team with the worst record could get the 7th pick.
  3. That’s true, but we’ll find out in the next 3-4 months.
  4. Like JBJ? Nobody saw that coming.
  5. Whitlock may be decided, but I doubt Raffy has been decided, and Bogey it’s a toss up.
  6. The Red Sox have given them plenty to be insightful about this year.
  7. I only meant us fans need to know just to formulate what our plans would be. After trading for JBJ none of us for the most part don’t have a clue to knowing what Bloom will do.of course it doesn’t stop us for trying.
  8. That’s why we have to know the plan with Whitlock BP, or rotation, before a plan is made, and, also Bogey, and Raffy to see how much money there is to spend, and if a SS is needed. I don’t see how to much can be done until these are decided.
  9. I agree with all these points, and I wouldn’t spend $20M on a closer either.
  10. Been a fan for years ever since Beano Cook used to mention them back on his scoreboard show many years ago.
  11. As if there isn’t anyway, but there should be plenty to talk about this off season too.
  12. The article in the Globe says it all. The Red Sox need to win the next off season to avoid being a punchline again next year. Bloom you are up.
  13. I agree 100%.
  14. I guess the way I look at is last year they were 2 games away from the WS, and this year they have a losing record, so to me that’s taking a big step backward, and downward, and I really don’t care how many teams are worse than they are, and I really don’t think the players do either, but if you want to find any kind of silver lining, and to say it could be worse that’s fine.
  15. Slippery Rock is also 4-0.
  16. A losing record means you are a losing team no matter how many teams are ahead of you, or behind you. Playoffs?Did someone say playoffs? Not this year.
  17. 1 win down, and 8 wins to go to get to 500.
  18. Boy are the O’s a young, and exciting team to watch!
  19. Wacha is Whacka tonight. Middlebrooks is terrible in the both, and wondering if if was to early to take him out.
  20. We definitely disagree on Houck being a plus closer, and to me the jury is still out on Whitlock if he could pitch 3 out of 4 days. Don’t know if being jerked around plus the injury affected him, but he was not as lockdown as he was his first year, so he could be somewhere in between, which wouldn’t constitute a plus closer, and not a chance I want to take.
  21. I guess we agree mostly except the biggie to me, which is getting an established closer. Like I said before if Whitlock, or Houck goes into the rotation it changes the needs of the staff. To me the best way to go is to have an established closer, a 8th inning man, and a 7th inning man, and none of this two inning stuff that takes that pitcher away for 2-3 days after.
  22. I guess you missed the part where I said Pretty Much The Same BP, and you had a pretty long list, but I’ve been beating the needing a closer drum since opening day this year, and that is still my #1 priority for the BP. We can all have our thoughts, and wishes but assuming Whitlock, and Houck are healthy it would be good to know what their roles will be to make out further plans. Whitlock back to the rotation changes needs, or lack of needs in both areas.
  23. It seems like we have another fence that people are sitting on different sides of. A last place team, and you want to bring back pretty much the same bullpen without an established closer at that. We are really going to find out how good Bloom is this off season although I think some already know. Bloom may have to trade some of the non pitching prospects for some pitching prospects for the pen, and for the rotation too. To come back with all these same pitchers you have listed looks like another losing season to me. FA too have to be in the mix.
