  1. Bloom must have thought JBJ was that 1 more player. How did that work out?
  2. I’ll agree Barnes is better than some of Bloom’s dumpster dives, and even though the extension looked good at the time if it would have waited a little bit longer it probably wouldn’t have happened at all. Being left off the postseason roster would not have been a good a good reason to do it.
  3. Agree on the in-season negotiations, but to me this should have been decided last off season, and coming out with those contract offers they came out with was a step in the opposite direction.
  4. Sounds like a good plan to me, and like I keep saying the Bogey, and Raffy situations have to be taken care of one way, or the other, before anything else, could, or should be done. The fact that it hasn’t is not a good sign to me.
  5. Dropping just before the postseason starts. Maybe they should have waited a few weeks.
  6. We’ll said.
  7. I don’t know who else was out there. I wasn’t looking for someone who you would have had to have given up a top prospect for, but just someone who could play adequate D at 1B. I fully understand starting the season the way they did at 1B, but early on it was pretty clear that things weren’t working, and to me something should have been done. Not to go all in as you say, but to get someone who could at least look like a 1B, and not like someone in Little League trying out for the position. It was embarrassing to say the least.
  8. Didn’t Santana get traded to Seattle in June?
  9. Now you are hung up on being constructive. Phantom? Once again you keep clinging to no one makes a trade in May, and trade, and I guess that proves it, because Bloom didn’t. I guess Bloom just isn’t as good as you think he is.
  10. Once again worrying so much about the future that may never turn out to be good for taking care of the here, and now. You are under the assumption that Bloom even tried to get. 1B, and I’m under the assumption he did not. Who knows who is right, but the fact is nothing was done, and the 2022 Team suffered, because of it.
  11. So you are still sticking to the assumption that Bloom could not have gotten anyone? I’m sticking to the assumption that he could have, and should have, and didn’t. We seem to be at an impasse again, and something that has been beaten to death already, so once again let’s move on to 2023, because 2022 for all intense, and purposes is dead, and gone.
  12. Like I’ve said before I’m not the HOBO, and Bloom is, and if he is as good as some tend to think on here he should have been able to find someone to play 1B better than Franchy Strange Glove, and if he couldn’t then he shouldn’t be in the position he is in the first place. You want me to do his job for him, and like I said before I’m not doing that. How do you know that no 1B were available? I don’t do the BTV stuff like some of you do. He’s the HOBO, and like I’ll say again act like it, and make a deal even if it means somebody goes off the 40 man, because that was a time of having a need, and nothing was done.
  13. Right, or wrong he is, but 30 innings is a lot of innings for a so called closer. He would probably be gone if not for the contract.
  14. That to me would be constructive criticism to make the Red Sox better.
  15. To be honest, and I have said i didn’t like Bloom’s hiring the day it was announced I will say yes. To me he made the team worse, and didn’t do anything for 2 months when he knew this team had trouble spots back in May. I have no faith that Bloom can put Humpty Dumpty back together again, so right, or wrong that is my opinion.
  16. Just because something is simple to you doesn’t mean it’s true, or would have happened that way. No one knows for sure one way, or the other that the Red Sox would still have zero rings if. John Henry hadn’t been the owner. Also who also hasn’t said that the players have just as much a part in the lack of success than JH, Cora, and Bloom. There is plenty of blame to go around for this season, and like I’ve said before even if the Red Sox would have won a ring last year it still wouldn’t have made it alright this year. You like to use bash, and bashing a lot when it comes to any part of discussing Bloom, Cora, and JH, but I like to call it constructive criticism.
  17. 8-10-18 8 games under 500 10th place in the AL as a whole 18th place in all of MLB Not something to be proud of, but a 9-1 finish will get them to 500. This has what $200M+ has gotten you.
  18. If you want to look at it that way you can, but to me the Owner, the GM, and the Manager all are part of the team, and all have different jobs. You are also leaving out Larry Lucchino, who JH himself said ran the Red Sox, and did more to bring Theo aboard than JH, and who hired Tito? You can break it down anyway you want to, but like I said before too circumstances that transpired on the field all these years had more to do with any success, or lack of, and I didn’t see the owner on the field.
  19. The owner, and GM are far from being the same thing. JH may have the checkbook, and didn’t want to open it any further for Mookie, and the jury is still out if he will for Bogey, and Raffy, but Bloom is the one for picking the players, or not picking the players.
  20. To sign Wacha I think it will take more than a year, and I’m not sure that will come from the Red Sox.
  21. I could have listed every year, but I think MOST got the point.
  22. Okay once again, and I’m not saying JH has not been a good owner, because I think he has, but some of you have your take, and some of us will have ours as usual.I think circumstances on the field in just the years I listed had more to do with the Red Sox not winning than who the owner was.
  23. I could have said in the last 100 years, but these are just a FEW examples.
  24. I don’t think the Red Sox didn’t win in 1946, or 1967, or 1975, or 1978, or 1986, because JH wasn’t the owner.
  25. 100% agree on this. This has been one of my major complaints about Bloom this year. It was pretty well known that another OF, and someone who could catch the ball at 1B early on, but Bloom did nothing for 2 months until the trade deadline in Aug to do something about it. Talk about little league play that was Franchy at 1B. I’ve heard excuses that you don’t make trades in May, and June, and I think that’s wrong especially when the Red Sox were desperate for help, and the bad D at 1B did cost them games. I don’t know what was out there, but I’m not the HOBO, and Bloom is, and he should have acted like it, and made a deal even if it would have taken someone of the 40 man roster, and no that wouldn’t have been classified as going all in. Bloom failed big time in this area.
