  1. Nice win for Notre Dame, and on the road even. When you can run the ball like they did yesterday it makes everything else easier. Of course having Mayer helps too.
  2. 11 games to go, and 7 games under 500. 9-2, or losing team for you.
  3. I have hope, but not counting on him. If he comes back great.
  4. I thought we had a great relationship, and even talked about doing a talk show together. It doesn’t get any better than that.
  5. I thought we were moving on like you said?
  6. Really? Really? You want to come back with Kike? For all I know Bard may be having a career year this year never to be seen again, and at his age that’s quite possible, but to put Kike into the conversation is really like wow, and I’m not even going there.
  7. Boy you are really grasping at something to be pinning any kind of hopes on Barnes? You want to go back before 2022 to help your case for Barnes go for it. We do agree at 37 Bard might not be reliable for the next two years of his contract, but I still take him over Barnes. Moved on.
  8. Your optimism is more tied to 40 man rosters, and the farm system, and if the team has gone all in on any certain year, and that is good for you. On the other hand like myself I’m more concerned on here, and now, which is good for me. Once again two entirely different philosophies, and the old different strokes for different folks.
  9. 57-32-63-32 57 inn-32 hits-63K’s, and 32 saves. That’s pretty good for me, and Barnes is as reliable as that? I’ll take Bard to be the CLOSER over any of the 4 Red Sox pitchers you mentioned. I’m not saying Bard is better than Whitlock, but Whitlock hasn’t proved he can be a closer which is what we’re talking about. Your just assuming that Schreiber will be as good next year, and i wouldn’t take that chance. I know you wouldn’t spend money on a closer, and I would. Two entirely different philosophies just like you saying Bard is not anymore reliable than Barnes. You got stats that show different? I talking now, and not then.
  10. Not reliable enough for me, and I think he’s more suited for long relief. The Sox can do better.
  11. Maybe we could petition to get into a weaker Div, so we wouldn’t look so bad especially since the O’s don’t look like a bottom feeder anymore.
  12. 100% agree. The Braves won the WS last year, and had a good BP, and they still went out, and shelled out some money for Jensen 36 (saves). You can’t have to many good BP arms. Even Colorado has seen the the importance of having a reliable closer.
  13. e You have your opinions, and I have mine, so disagreeing is not squelching, but you will look at it different from me, which is fine. You can have Houck, and I’ll take someone else. Schreiber could be a 1 yr wonder, and not someone I’m counting on for next year to have a big role, and even before he was hurt Whitlock wasn’t as lockdown as he was last year, so you go with your staff, and I’d go with something different.
  14. I’m not saying Bard is the best option, but the contract is not all that bad. Like I keep saying the BP will not get better without a reliable closer.
  15. A closer is the #1 need for the BP. Period! And from Nobody on the staff now. I understand what you don’t understand.
  16. You really want to come back with the same combo next year? Houck, and Whitlock are coming off injuries, and you want to count on Schreiber being as good next year after being so, so in his career? Also to count on Barnes. Doesn’t sound like good baseball strategy to me if you want to get better.
  17. Old friend Daniel Bard would be better, and a big no on Kimbrel. Kimbrel was just taken out of the closer role by the Dodgers, who may regret come postseason they did not resign Jensen.
  18. Whether Hill, and the D did worse, or not the BP has cost them games since opening day.
  19. 12 games left, and 6 games under 500. 9-3 will get you there. Not going to happen this year.
  20. That’s why Joe Madden said they need to come down to the dugout to see what really goes on.
  21. I didn’t say it was. That’s my point. Like I said earlier you were grasping at straws, but it didn’t change anything especially the all important WL record.
  22. The Washington FB Team won their Div a few years ago with a losing record. Right place at the right time.
  23. March 16th is the date to start with, and not April 4th, and that’s my last mention of the subject.
  24. It was grasping at straws if anything else.
