  1. Bogey would get a no-trade after next year anyway.
  2. Exactly, and big bills at that.
  3. you’re welcome!
  4. All of the above plus the players. There was plenty of blame to go around. Like Kennedy said we all failed.
  5. Let’s remember too that they took JD’s binky iPad away, and he couldn’t hit with out it.
  6. 2020 was as bad as it gets record wise, but to say 2020 was a mess roster wise just isn’t true. Bogey, Raffy, JD, Vaz, and Dugy are not chopped liver, and a pretty good start to a lineup, and that’s why I have said that 2021 was not a big surprise to me.
  7. All this rebuild, re-set, and going all in talk is Moon speak, and that’s your opinion, which is fine, but I don’t hear any of that from the people that count like JH, Kennedy, Bloom, or Cora. Did you watch the year end PC yesterday? Kennedy said it was their fault, and they failed this past season, and they expect to be competitive every year, and I don’t think it’s in anybodies count to skip years in hopes of getting better later on that may never happen.
  8. You read into this wrong. The some who claim things are worse than they are the ones who think Bloom was left such as mess from DD, and the so called given parameters that Bloom has to deal with, and not the Blooms critics. I know you have to get the Bloom Bashers in there. They will not only be around as long as Bloom gives the fans something to criticize about, and will most likely grow in numbers. Attendance was the lowest this year in JH’s regime, and he sees, and feels that more than anything. Ticket prices are going up next year, and Bloom is in the hot seat to produce a product that is not only worth paying the high prices to see, and adding the increase in as well.
  9. As bad as things some claim they are, and as good as Bloom some claim he is he should be able to fix things, and not in a 5 yr rebuild. I don’t think things are as bad as some claim, but could get worse if Bogey, and Raffy aren’t resigned, and I don’t believe Bloom is as good as people claim he is. I do hope I’m wrong on this, but only time will tell, and sooner the better. No one gets an unlimited amount of time in Boston.
  10. I think Henry should have given Bloom one of those 1 yr contracts that Bloom likes giving out when he goes dumpster diving.
  11. Oh those bad irate fans that go out screaming, because they don’t like to see their team with a losing season, and being in last place in the division. How do think they should act to go out, and pat Bloom on the back, and say a job well done? Of course you’ve called the fans crybabies among so many things this year just, because they don’t see things your way. Like myself with a $200M+ payroll every year I expect them to be in the watered down playoffs every year, and anything less is a failure, and even more so like this year with a loosing record to boot, so no there should be no waiting around waisting years away hoping to get better 3/years down the road. Like Kennedy said yesterday this year’s failure of the team is on management him, and Bloom, and below, and they expect to be competitive EVERY year. Fans aren’t going to wait to as you call it things lining up, nor should they. Non of the prospects should be off limits if it makes the Red Sox better, or the number of them. Remember what’s good for how you see things might not be good for others see things especially the fans who pay the high ticket prices to go to the games at Fenway. If you think many fans were irate, and crybabies this year things will get worse next year if things don’t improve.
  12. Wash, rinse, repeat? How many times have you used that? That sounds like wash, rinse repeat to me. Rebuild, reset, cliff, we are where we are today, because of gong all in, and cleaning out the farm in previous years all things we have heard many times over. In other words wash, rinse repeat. The average fan like me who doesn’t give a flying F about the inner workings of a budget, and long term planning I don’t have to know. I’m just a fan like you, and not the GM. We gone over this many times that if you want to think more like the GM that’s fine, and that works for you, but for the fans who don’t that’s fine too. I don’t see, how one way is better than the other. To each his own, and different strokes for different folks.
  13. I’m just throwing out possibilities. If Bogey leaves a SS, or 2B is needed, but like you say where you spend more money on you have to skimp somewhere else.
  14. No punches were landed, or thrown, and just a verbal disagreement.
  15. If Arroyo, and Story were at 2B/SS that would take that out as a need, and then it’s all P,P,P, and a RF.
  16. There is just all kinds of possibilities that the Sox could go. Kike could come back to the IF. I don’t think Arryo at SS, and Story at 2B is the Same as the other way around, but at any rate you can’t count on Arroyo to stay on the field. Yes if you move Houck, and Whitlock to the rotation, which is not what I would do you would need more help for the pen. All I’m saying is that there are many ways for the team to go, and after last offseason like bringing JBJ back nothing Bloom, and Cora would do would surprise me.
  17. So you already have Bogey gone, and if that is the case you don’t have Story going to SS, which may happen, and also Arroyo to 2B. Whitlock may also may end up back in the rotation, so you are going on a lot of assumptions that may be right, or wrong, but until something happens no one really knows, but if my possibilities happens that changes lots of things does it not?
  18. You are right in the fact that the Red Sox are a last place team too, but a good closer is a good way to make the club better, and I’m not going to count on Houck, or Whitlock to be that person if i want to make the team better that has a long way to go. Yes Whitlock, and Houck made the backend of the BP better when they got put there, but look what they had before. They can set up a good reliable closer, and yes I know you all disagree, but most of the good clubs have one except the Dodgers that may come back to bite them in the post season, which I Hope Jansen, and the Braves do.
  19. Jansen picked up his 40th save yesterday, and Bard got his 33rd for the last place Rockies, but nah the Red Sox don’t need anyone like that. Tony Mass had a interesting point the other night during the Sox broadcast about pick up Diaz from the Mets. Made more sense in what the Red Sox tried to do this year. Sound the trumpets!
  20. 3-16-9 The Red Sox finished a woeful 3-16 against the Jays 9 games now under 500.
  21. Not on what counts the most. W-L is what decides who’s in, and who’s out, and the last I looked the Red Sox are out, so narrow, or not W-L counts more than anything.
  22. Now we can add unbalanced, and not levelheaded. The hits just keep on coming, and all the while the Sox get record gets further, and further from 500.
  23. New details that came out today said the mutual option on Pham is for $12M, and not $6M.
  24. The funny part is you get flummoxed, and frustrated, by the so called Bashers, and the Bashers get frustrated with Bloom. I feel your pain.
