  1. The old gift, and a curse.
  2. You always want me to do Bloom’s work for him. Why are you limiting finding a pitcher to a FA. Go out, and make a deal.same excuse on the 1B front. Go out, and make a deal. In all of MLB there was no 1B out there that could have been better than Franchy Strangeglove? Bloom it seems to have a pattern of not being able to do something at the time of need, and those 2 examples made the team worse off, and you can deny that all you want. He’s the HOBO, so go out, and make a deal.
  3. I guess that was just not obvious to the powers at be, and yes things were made worse, because of it.
  4. Two days ago you were saying the Red Sox would have been in 3rd place in 3 other divisions, and 4th place in 2 other division besides that if they didn’t play in the BBE (Big Bad East), and of course you would have to do schedule adjustments too. Well unfortunately they are not in another Div, and they are what they are. Playoffs? Did someone say playoffs? Not in Boston. Not this year, but if we just could have been in another Div we had a chance with a weaker schedule. Oh well better luck next year.
  5. Once again in all of MLB there was no one out there? Wow! Once again March 16th is when the injury was announced, so why you clinging to April 4th? 4 weeks wasn’t enough time to find someone? This was before the Story signing too, so no excuse there either.
  6. Who said anything about trying to find a Ace? No one did. April 4th? The Red Sox announced the injury on March 16th, which was plenty of time to go out, and find a starting pitcher, so Houck, and Whitlock wouldn’t have been messed with.
  7. There may have been a plan to start the season, before Sale’s injury was known, but when it was Cora, and Bloom didn’t know what to do, and made decisions on the fly, and to me it showed.
  8. I agree, and playing piggyback was another.
  9. Jansen would have been alright for this year, but risky for the money going forward. I agree you need more than a closer, but to me a closer is where you start.
  10. NONE of these guys have a track record as a reliable closer for to long a time, and you don’t really know what to expect from any of them going into next year. Whitlock, and Houck are coming off injuries. Is Schreiber all of a sudden a reliable setup man, or a one hit wonder? Barnes who knows. Got to get a proven commodity if possible.
  11. Need a reliable closer to start with, and then go from there.
  12. Both Cora, and Bloom I think had a hand in the decision making for Houck, and Whitlock. If Sale had been healthy to start the season I don’t believe Houck, or Whitlock would have started. Houck was the first choice when Sale was injured, and Whitlock only was put into a starting role when Houck wasn’t vaxed. With all the injuries to the rotation during the year both Houck, and Whitlock probably would have ended up there anyway, which would weaken the BP in the process, which was already weak to begin with.
  13. I get your point on all of this.
  14. I should have said all the praise he has gotten, and not all the praise, so that’s my error, but the meaning is still there.
  15. I’m not making anything up. I have heard more than once that Cora led the Red Sox to their best season in their history, so no made up has been done. With a payroll of $200M+ yes I expect them to at least be a team with a winning record every year, so if that’s wrong then I’m wrong.
  16. If Cora is going to get all the praise for 2018, and he has how come he doesn’t get any blame for this year?
  17. I know it suck’s doesn’t it? Pretty embarrassing to see where this team is.
  18. He won’t this year, but i don’t think Henry is happy with him.
  19. Some on here have used that more than once already, and yes it is lame. that we agree on.
  20. Injuries was one of many reasons, but just 1.
  21. No I don’t, and neither was I.
  22. And of course it’s not the other way around. It works both ways, so if it’s bad for one side it’s bad for both. We disagree, and you don’t like my opinion. Nothing sets people off more on here than saying anything negative about Cora, or Bloom, and that’s the truth, so for the we got Cora, and we got Bloom people you got a last place losing team. CONGRATULATIONS.
  23. And is anyone saying some heads should roll? Not only no, but hell no.
  24. Maybe, because the logical response that would have been added would have been the Red Sox would be worse without them.
  25. Are the old toughest schedule in MLB excuse, and if the Red Sox played in a different Div with teams that aren’t as good the Red Sox wouldn’t look, and be as bad. Is this what we have sunken too? Wow!
