  1. He has had a couple of cameos in a regular season game, so it’s not like he hasn’t done it before.
  2. I KNOW who assembled the roster. I don’t get all the hubbub in trying something in a meaningless ST game. Just chill out, and have a Gansett.
  3. After last year with Franchy Strange Glove at 1B anything is possible, or wouldn’t surprise me to what Cora would try. He might be better than Arroyo in the OF, but who knows.
  4. I’m not a big Bobby D fan, but he has shown flashes of being productive, so they are just trying things out. It’s just a ST game after all, and like the Yuckers were saying during the broadcast the other day they don’t know if there has been any answers yet on what will happen to him from staying on the big club to going down to Worcester, or being traded.
  5. What is there to go wrong in a ST game? It looks like Turner is the backup at 1B, so if Bobby D isn’t a utility IF I don’t see much of a spot for him on the Red Sox, and should go back down to Worcester to get some AB.
  6. I think trying Bobby D at SS is a good idea, and if it works out you’ve got 1 guy who could fill in at All IF positions if only for a limited time.
  7. 100%. It was bad when the extension was offered, and signed, it was bad 3 years later, and I believe it’s bad now.
  8. He certainly was the main reason the Red Sox didn’t win.
  9. I liked the Cardinals, and Dodgers in the early 1960’s, or anyone who went against the Yankees in the WS, but then 1967 came along, and I didn’t like the Cardinals so much especially Bob Gibson.
  10. That’s the musical group OB, and the Yuckers. Middleton, Millar, Lenny D, Wake, and Youk. What a drop in Quality from Rem, and Danny O, and Eck. Not ML quality to me, and substandard for the history of good Red Sox announcers.
  11. That’s asking quite a lot for someone who just turned 34. I’d settle for 25 starts this year, and see what happens if that happens.
  12. Sounds all good, and the most important part is that Sale comes out healthy.
  13. True, not many liked it, and still don’t. I was against it the day the extension happened, because Sale having TJ was predicted by many, and pretty much predictable any way, and I’m not paying any pitcher to have TJ, and sit out 1-2 years especially the kind of money Sale got. Bad deal when it happened in my opinion, and bad deal now.
  14. I think it’s more about the # of pitchers thrown than innings. Jansen had a quick first inning today. I thought Sale might pitch a little bit more today since he only threw 31 pitches.
  15. I don’t think he’s a genius. Like he said it’s a low risk, high reward type of move. If it works out great, and if it doesn’t no big loss.
  16. You may be right, but I just don’t think DD would have drafted him if he was counting on this year as the year.
  17. Disagree 100% that DD pulled a dick move. I don’t think DD had any knowledge that Song would be released this year, and was just taking a chance for further down the line. After all he did draft him. I don’t believe he would have drafted him if he knew he was being released as early as he was.
  18. It’s definitely better to be winning like they have than to be losing, but I don’t know how much all the winning will carry over once the real season starts. Most of the frontline players haven’t really contributed to all the winning so far, so we’ll have to wait, and see on that. I still think the success of the Red Sox this year will hinge on the success of the starting rotation, and there are still a lot of questions there.
  19. Song has already been on the best team when he was in the Navy, and we’ll find out soon where he ends up next, which is hopefully back in the Red Sox organization.
  20. It may be okay to go with that OF alignment, but it certainly won’t be a great rangy D.
  21. Good questions, but no answers. The ideal is to kind of have 2CF for CF, and RF in Fenway. It’s hard to get someone like a Mookie.
  22. We agree on this, and when JBJ didn’t work out last year, and Kike was hurt the Red Sox needed a CF/RF, but what did Bloom do went out, and got a LF, and Dugie got moved to RF where he is still at, and not his best position.
  23. No that was Jimmy Piersall.
  24. Opinion, and stats. Kind of like on here.
  25. Good article today from Tomase on NBC Sports Boston on Duvall.
