The great, and objective John Tomase said it this way. This Red Sox team is the least talented team in the JH era to start off the season.I don’t think anyone predicted what happened in 2021, nor what happened last year, so I’m not predicting at all. I will say that a lot of things will have to go right for this team to be anything like 2021 starting with good health of the starting staff.
I believe pretty much all players pretty much know what is being said about them, and in Boston that includes Cora, Bloom, Kennedy, and especially JH, and it comes from many different sources. Who knows maybe even Talksox.
All I said was that I was at the wait, and see mode on Yoshida to see how he handles playing in Boston just like I do with anyone, and you guys took it from there. I was agreeing with you that there might not be the same kind of pressure now that there has been in previous years, and that Bloom is under the most pressure. I didn’t know my opinion would cause such a tizzy.
You don’t think the sports writers are justified in tempering their expectations for the Red Sox for this coming season? Is the old joint sold out for tomorrow’s game? I would say to start the season there is not much steam in the old pressure cooker. Like I said earlier the pressure cooker is being held by Bloom.
If you think every player who has come to Boston has handled it well then I think you are wrong, because I don’t, and that is my opinion. s***** reporters? How about those bad sports radio talk show callers, and yes wait for it those bad posters on TalkSox, and other venues of the like.
Atlanta is a good hitting club, and their A lineup was in there today. There wasn’t to many games this spring that the Red Sox pitching faced the other teams A lineup.
I agree with that being reasonable. Lots of things would have to go right to be any better. Anything’s possible though, but to me very unlikely. Hope I’m wrong!
