  1. Everyone in the universe knows who signed Frail to the extension, and anyone being cheap wasn’t the point. Old, and injured was, and Frail is as old, and injured as you can get.
  2. Never heard that, but I did hear Mookie, Bogey, and Raffy’s name.
  3. I didn’t want any of the above, and that includes Pax, and Frail.
  4. Already did with Pax, and Frail.
  5. The Dodgers WH that trade off.
  6. Very well said. I’ve always been against 10/yr $300M+ contracts, but that’s the game that is played today, and if you don’t want to play that way you will lose out in more ways than one.
  7. To me the best way to build a #1 system is to keep homegrown future HOF performers who have proven they can produce, and win in Boston. Something like Mookie, Betts, and Raffy, and NO Boston fans don’t have the patience to do any kind of rebuilds, and shouldn’t have to. A big market, high payroll team should be a competitive, winning team every year, and anything else is a failure. Like this last year when Kennedy said himself, Bloom, and Cora all failed.
  8. Good article in the Athletic today by Ken Rosenthal on the Red Sox, and Henry/Bloom. One thing Kennedy did say was that the best way to make fans happy is to win a WS, and not build the #1 system.
  9. There is also a big difference I believe in a homegrown talent that fans had heard about in the minors, and watched them come up, and in some cases grow up like Bogey. Some just don’t get that for some reason.
  10. I don’t think there is any plans if it’s so called master, or not to make Devers the full time DH anytime soon, and especially for those reasons.
  11. Boggs, and Clemens were not all that popular when they left compared to Mookie, and Bogey.
  12. Two strikes on you now. Wow! Was JH/Bloom there was those guys? He spelled it out for you the first time, and your trying to deflect away from JH/Bloom combo, but it didn’t work.
  13. He missed the point big time on that one.
  14. Not many homegrown in that bunch. Gee!
  15. Barring an injury Raffy will be the starting 3B of the Red Sox next season, and yes without a new contract.
  16. It’s not like the Sox didn’t need a DH, but I agree that there was bigger needs first.
  17. Let’s remember when FA started Abreu was the first one the Red Sox talked to, so DH seems like a priority to Bloom.
  18. 2/$22M with a opt out after 1.
  19. You keep up bringing up the same excuse/reason over, and over, and over again like that’s the sole reason, and everyone knows it’s not. I will agree it’s part of the problem, but a long ways from being the only problem. Bloom’s decision making, or lack there of is a bigger reason to me. Just in the past year getting rid of a 96 RBI player with 2 arb years left for a more expensive replacement who couldn’t hit his weight, and had to be released made the team worse. Not getting a closer, or anything close to start this past season made the club worse. Sitting on his hands for 2 months watching Franchy StrangeGlove, and Duran the Butterfly Man try to play some resemblance of D, and doing nothing about it made the club worse. Injuries made the club worse. Lack of production from top players made the club worse. Not having anyone ready to go from the farm from a drought is a reason, but a longs ways from being the only, or most important.
  20. Negative results brings out negativity.
  21. What a feel good story to say the Red Sox, and 14 other teams finished behind the O’s. I’m sure most fans will overlook the fact that the Red Sox had a losing record also. In other words don’t worry, and be happy that things aren’t as bad as it seems.
  22. Blow his shoulder out? I haven’t heard anyone from the Red Sox say that Story is physically able to play SS, so why all the fuss.
  23. Yes, but plenty of hype.
  24. A losing last place in the Div team will do that.
  25. The ridiculous offer from the Red Sox would be on the low end of the scale, and not on the high end.
