  1. Nobody is worth the contract they are getting, and that includes Judge.
  2. The point being we will never know, but the $160M/6, or something similar should have been offered in the first place, and not the 1 yr ext for $30M. If that would have happened we still wouldn’t be having this discussion today.
  3. The point being that according to sources the Red Sox just didn’t outbid every other team, but out bid them by a wide margin. They didn’t have to go that high is the part that doesn’t make sense. Did the Red Sox know something that all the other clubs didn’t know, or does all the other clubs know something the Red Sox don’t know. Time will tell if this signing makes any sense, or not.
  4. That offer would have been perfectly reasonable to me if that would have happened last offseason. When they only offered the non refuted 1 yr ext for $30M is like like coming to a gun fight with a water pistol.
  5. I think Bloom is facing that same problem that he faced at the trade deadline last year. He’s looking for that 3rd option in the fork in the road.
  6. The point being that initial offer was so ridiculous it shouldn’t have even happened in the ist place, and yes I believe that initial offer was true, and yes it has never been refuted, so it doesn’t really matter what offers were made after that. Once Bogey got to FA it was over.
  7. You ought to be proud of Bloom, because he did something that no one else was ever able to do, which is he got Boris to stop the bidding a coupe of hours after it started. That is a fact. Now the rest of the story that the Red Sox just didn’t outbid every other team, but every other team by a large margin is the question, but that’s what’s out there. I just hope this isn’t Rusney part II. It sounds like the Red Sox were pretty much bidding against themselves, and so much so that Boris shut things down.
  8. Market price was a lot different last offseason then it is this offseason is it not? How do you know Henry doesn’t get his info from Bloom? You don’t anymore than I do, and I doubt very much that Henry knew that the price to sign Bogey would go up as much as it did. I think you are giving Henry way to much credit, which means Bloom didn’t botch things up so bad.
  9. This subject has been beaten to death, so I’ll say this part for the last time. If the Red Sox didn’t really want Bogey as some on here believe, and only did the spin, and grin for what purpose who knows than it’s not a blunder, but just a good old slap across the face, and a insult to boot for someone who is homegrown, won two rings, and has been a leader on, and off the field, and his tangibles alone are worth more than Story. Of course tangibles don’t show up on a analytics sheet, so to some that stuff doesn’t matter. On the other hand if Bloom misread the room, which is what I believed happened, and passed that info on to Henry, which I believed happened also then that is a blunder in the highest proportion , and that to me would be a fireable offense to make a blunder that big on a future HOF player. Imagine this team could loose 3 future HOF players in 5 yrs. Once again 3 future HOF players in 5 years gone to other teams.
  10. I know you would have no problem with a 5 year plan, and that would be alright for you, but I doubt very much that a good percentage of fans would feel the same way. The best thing for Henry to do is sell in that situation, so someone could take over, and make the Red Sox competitive again.I’ve been a Red Sox fan for 60+ years, and I’ve never heard mention of doing a 5yr plan before.
  11. If things are that bad off, because JH doesn’t want to play, and pay anymore then it’s time for him to sell, and get someone in Boston who does want to play, and pay. If you think fans are crying, and pissed off now after this past year this would be nothing compared to if they were told any kind of 5 year plan had to take place.
  12. Merrily foolish.
  13. Ok! Welcome to the club that’s made for you, and me. S A L U T E.
  14. Why does it bother you so much if many, many fans are angry, and complaining about the direction the Red Sox have gone like being a losing team, and being last in the Div? I’d say that’s plenty to cry, and be angry about. It’s always amazing that to you it is always the other person who doesn’t understand you, or get what you are saying, because to me they always get what you are saying, but doesn’t smell what the Rock is cooking, and just doesn’t agree with you. Hard for you to believe, but true, and also hard for you to admit that you do plenty of crying too.
  15. It’s nice of you to try, and get on the crybaby list, but I don’t think you rank that high like I do.
  16. Not the long post I was referring to.
  17. You calling fans crybabies is like OJ looking in the mirror, and saying he’s still looking for the real killer. You calling anyone else a crybaby that you know nothing about is the same thing. If the act fits you must be it.
  18. Row, row, row your boat. Anyone can do that. What point that proves I don’t know.
  19. And both sides are guilty, and at least I admit it.
  20. The people who write the longest columns provide the biggest word salads. More is not always better, and there are plenty of examples on here to prove it.
  21. No! You keep proving your point.
  22. Agree 100%, and Bogey knew it.
  23. Go back on the post, and you will find the lowball offer comments should stop. I know you would be quick to find it if it was me.
  24. Not just fans, but spoiled-crybaby fans.
  25. Look at all the post on here of I know you are, but what am I? Both sides are guilty.I’ve never heard anything like this on any talk shows that get trashed on here like this forum isn’t just another form of a talk show.
