  1. It all depends what OF you talk about when you say the D should be worse than 2022. The start of 2022 the OF D was good, but the D got worse as the season went along, and especially when The Butterfly Man was in CF. 1B will be better. 2B if Arroyo stays healthy I don’t see any big drop off. Story was good, but did a lot of his work in short RF, which he wouldn’t be doing this year, and wasn’t all that great at turning the DP. Arroyo can hold his own a 2B. SS no one knows how Kike will do. The most games he’s ever played in a season is 20+, so I’m on a wait, and see on that. 3B Hopefully Raffy improves. C I’m not sure will be better either.
  2. Well the good vibes I believe has to come from the starting rotation. If that holds up I can see them Winning somewhere around there.
  3. Agree with this, but if Story doesn’t get hurt I don’t think Duvall gets signed unless the plan was to move Kike to the IF anyway.
  4. Cora said a week, or so ago that Yoshida would not be batting leadoff, and probably 4th.
  5. As long as he comes out healthy I’m not panicking yet.
  6. He doesn’t want to show his real stuff until he faces them in the opening series.
  7. My biggest worry with the lineup going into the season is how well Turner, and Duval will produce. They’ll be in the middle somewhere, and I think they will be a key one way, or the other.
  8. It seems that Story, and Dugy had more RBI chances even hitting further down last year.
  9. I would go with : Arroyo Yoshida Raffy Turner Casas Duval Dugy Kike C
  10. I would say at this time it’s TBD. I think Arroyo will start off batting leadoff, and who bats ninth will determine how many guys Raffy has on base when he gets up. I just think he would have more RBI chances hitting third.
  11. Batting #3 was good enough for Ted, Yaz, Rice, Manny, and David, and in my opinion would be the best spot for Raffy now especially if you had some guys to get on base ahead of him. Schwarber had 46 HR last year, and 94 RBI. He would have had more rbi if he would have hit a little lower in the lineup, which is more important to me. To say the #3 hitter comes up more often with 2 outs, and no one on if true would not be a deterrent to me. A good leadoff, and #2 hitter would take care of that.
  12. Batting orders are out of whack from what they used to be with the likes of Judge, and Schwaber batting leadoff, so batting cleanup isn’t what it used to be either. It used to be your best hitter hit third, which is where I think Raffy should hit, but it’s not the way they do things now.
  13. When he was signed there was talk of him batting leadoff, but now it looks like he’ll start the season batting cleanup.
  14. Agree, and REM Dawg was really terrible in the beginning. I just think a team like the Red Sox, or NESN can do better then what they have been trotting out there the last two years. An example of quantity doesn’t always add up to quality.
  15. Good summation. Mata still has a way to go, and he has others ahead of him outside of Bello at this point.
  16. Don’t care for Merloni, but to me he is definitely easier to listen to than Youk, and Middleton Yuck, and Yuck, and part of the Yuckers.
  17. Good to see Turner back in the lineup today.
  18. Sounds like one’s in, and one is out for now, and if, and when all is healthy both will be out untill someone gets hurt again.
  19. Good post. Like I call them OB, and the YUCKers. All the good play by play the Red Sox have had going back to Curt Gowdy, and now to me it’s just second, or third rate, and getting worse.
  20. Raffy back in the Red Sox lineup today. Glad to see he made it back from WBC in one piece.
  21. Diaz to miss all of 2023 for Mets!
  22. Plus all of Kluber’s accomplishments have been with other teams. If Cora didn’t want to go with Sale the only guy who has actually pitched the last few years is Pivetta. In other words slim Pickens.
  23. Looks good, and the only question I have is if Whitlock gets 2-3 more appearances in would he start the season with the Sox, but in the pen.
  24. I know what he said. I’m just saying to me if Wong hadn’t gotten injured he still would have gotten beaten out by Alfaro, so to me Wong being ready to open the season only means something for Worcester.
  25. Kind of hard to do that when Bloom was looking for that 3rd option in the fork in the road.
