  1. I’m more concerned if Story will earn what he has left on his contract, which is far from a sure bet in itself.
  2. I said $168M 12 months ago. I repeat 12 months ago. Bloom came out with a offer of a 1 yr extension 12 months ago. Bloom coming out now with $162M after Bogey had gotten to FA is what’s so pitiful. You can keep playing the same old broken record about DD, and Houck, and the farm like that is going to lessen, or take away the blame that Bloom is getting for misreading the room, and botching the Bogey negotiations. It won’t, and it doesn’t.
  3. I know you had to get DD in here somehow. This is all on Bloom no matter how you try to spin it back to DD. $162M/6 would had been a good offer 12 months ago, but not now, which probably wasn’t even close to what more than 1 team offered. Bloom misread the room, and botched this up, and after 3 years this was the best he came up with. Pitiful, just plain pitiful.
  4. The BIG mistake was was the offer came 12 months to late.
  5. The 6/162, which was a little lower than my suggested 6/168 should have been made last offseason. Waiting till after FA they knew he wouldn’t take it.
  6. The only difference is that JH did not meet Bogey out in the parking lot like he did Lester.
  7. The old JH fool me once fool me twice routine.
  8. Bloom gets all the blame for that ridiculous lowball offer in the first place last offseason, and that didn’t warrant any kind of counter offer from Boris. We’ve gone over this 100 times already, and nothing new has come about, or changed.
  9. You keep talking about Boris lowest demand, so what was it?
  10. He keeps making the same argument, and like you said there has never been any reports of Boris demanding anything, but yet I’ve heard the Boris lowest demand a 100 times over.
  11. Most Red Sox fans know the history that DD had not only a winning record in his 4 years in Boston, but a WS win as well. They also know the Bloom history in his three years, which are two losing last place finishes.
  12. I get that Bogey, Raffy, and Mookie were all prospects once with hype, but because they turned out the way they did doesn’t mean the others will. My point is that I believe the Red Sox would be better off with the three above, and then you could build around them with the Casas, Bello, Mayer, and others if they work out, and then you got something. What have you got to build around now Story, and the $100M man?
  13. Exactly. If the Red Sox had made a serious offer then we would have known if Bogey really wanted to stay, or not, but once he hit FA it was all over, and the price went up out of sight.
  14. I’m not even sure Raffy gets traded at all., but it’s just a theory.
  15. Deny, deny, accuse. Your standard operation procedure.
  16. Like I keep saying that all these Casas, Bello, Mayer, and anyone else you want to throw in there are nothing, but promising prospects with plenty of hype at this point, and counting on all to live up to expectations is above, and beyond probability, and if they don’t what then? Lucky if one does let alone more. Betts, Bogey, and Raffy were proven.
  17. You can keep polishing the turd (Bloom) all you want, and Blame others all you want too, but the turd is still a turd, and Bloom in 3 years turned this club into what it is today, which is a losing last place team, so take issue all you want, but it doesn’t change anything.
  18. I agree 100%, but Bogey was a big mistake, and my contention is that Raffy will at least start the season with the Red Sox without a new contract, because JH does not want to lose Bogey, and Raffy at the same time, so the anger from the fans will get spread out. Just my theory.
  19. A starting OF, a 3B, and SS, and Vaz got playing time at C, so that seems like more than 3, or 4. ERod was promising, and so was Barnes. Look at where Bloom has got the Red Sox today, and you think the Red Sox are better off.
  20. Not only do I believe they can, but I believe they will. Why would you think Bloom would not do that?
  21. 5 short years ago the Red Sox had their best season ever, and won a WS. The team was loaded with young homegrown players, and the future looked real promising. Now there is just one of those good young players left who is most likely out the door after this year, and this is where we are at today. Definitely steps going backwards, but some seem to be alright with that.
  22. First Mookie then Bogey, and next Raffy. Doesn’t seem like a good way to go to me, and then to pin all the hopes on the Casas, Bello, and Mayer to be just as good. Doesn’t sound like a winning formula to me.
  23. Xander who? You mean the future HOF who won two championships with the Red Sox, and was a model Red Sox on, and off the field. A future HOF is who!
  24. Who said anything about Bloom throwing money around? I said the Rangers didn’t have a clue what they were doing like Bloom doesn’t have a clue what he was doing. Money, or no money.
  25. Like I say all the time that what matters is now, and not what might happen 2-3 years away.
