  1. I’m not saying I like Story at SS, but like I said weeks ago when many of you were speculating what SS the Red Sox would get I said I’m not so sure they would get anyone, but Story to play there if Bogey didn’t come back.I have said the Red Sox signed Story to play SS, and that’s what I believe, and I said he shouldn’t have been signed if he wasn’t physically able to play SS.
  2. You said the Yankees were not better off money wise, and I said they didn’t care at the moment. I also said that not all teams care about the dreaded tax line at the moment.
  3. We shall see.
  4. Would Verlander have gotten a five year deal? I wouldn’t have signed DeGrom either, but the Rangers are just throwing money out there, and I don’t think have to much of a clue what they are doing. You know kind of like Bloom.
  5. The Yankees are going for it now, and that’s all that matters at the moment. If they pay later then good for them, but if they win now it’s bad for the Red Sox.
  6. Baseball is just going back to the way baseball was played on D for the most part for 100+ years, and some are acting like OMG what are we going to do now. The Red Sox have had plenty of 2B who didn’t have the range of Petey, or Story. They would be alright with Arroyo at 2B, which I still believe is the most likely outcome for 2023.
  7. It’s only a worse financial situation if the Yankees care about that. I know it’s hard to believe that not all teams do.
  8. Come on man! Turner s not going to the bench anytime soon for the Boston Red Sox.
  9. Verlander at his present age is just a short term fix. Big difference.
  10. When players start getting up in age especially a pitcher I think the last year is more relevant.
  11. Like I said if the money was the same I believe the Red Sox would have taken Wacha over Kluber.
  12. How many years for DeGrom, and how many years for Verlander? Not even close to being the same thing.
  13. They signed Judge, and I’m sure for a lot more than they wanted to. JH would not have done that.
  14. Is that a trick question? Point being they didn’t sign Turner to go to the bench, and if they did I would think Bloom is even worse than he is if that’s possible.
  15. I agree, and the Yankees are in a better position talent, and money wise to do a Rondon deal.
  16. Name one for that kind of money.
  17. Yes, but someone signing Verlander for that kind of money means you are going all in. Are the Red Sox in any position to go all in?
  18. What a plan! Turner to the bench. BIG NO!
  19. For a last place team? Yes.
  20. Personally I would have rather seen someone a little bit younger in the tooth then any of these three.
  21. I disagree that Kluber has better expectations going forward, and I believe the Red Sox would have signed Wacha if they could have gotten him for the same price as they did Kluber, and the same goes for Evol.
  22. Do you think the Red Sox are taking Kluber over Evol, or Wacha, because he is better, or because he is cheaper??
  23. Yes in what way?
  24. It’s not just changing the rules so that players aren’t bunched on one side of the field, but not playing out on the OF grass as well.
