    It seems like the Red Sox were too heavy on the deferring also.

    I think the rotation could be strong, but as we’ve seen the past few years depth could be a key if injuries start to pile up. I think it will be interesting to see how Crochet does after his first heavy workload last year, and then can Chapman be somewhere as good as last year. I hope the lineup isn’t a finished product yet.

    I think he wanted his buddy no doubt, but only locking him up for 1 year at the time, and taking a chance later was more than a big, big gamble that the Red Sox ultimately, and I think predictably lost. It seems Breggie had more pursuers this time around, and the Red Sox were all so close.

    It’s not like we haven’t agreed on something before. It may have not been many times, but there has been a few.

    Not at all. I said when Bregman was signed last year that the three years was the right length on the contract.

    Both Dick Stuart, and Franchy Strange Glove were worse 1B than Casas is.

    It’s like the old adage actions speak louder than words, but in this case Cora’s words, and actions all said the same things.🤓

    Cora knows Raffy better than anyone, so the Fact that he did not even talk to him let alone try to make Raffy a 1B gives me all the merit I need, and why I have the opinion I do on the Raffy situation.

    The Cubs come to Boston in late Sept to close out the 2026 season. I’m pretty sure Bregman will get a loud and long not so good reception.🤫

    Like I mentioned before SF already has an excellent 3B, so Raffy wasn’t going to play there, and often when you go to a new team just like Story did you play another position. Maybe the SF MANAGER asked Raffy to play 1B, and the Red SOX MANAGER didn’t. Raffy had NO team seniority moving to SF.

    Heavy deferrals bringing the value down lower than Bregman liked seemed to be a sticking point.

    And even worse would be Brez trying to explain it all to everyone.

    I wonder how Theo would have handled the whole situation.? I can’t believe he’s giving Brez advice on how to handle things.

    Huh? What’s that got to do with SF agreeing with you?

    Dave pushed JH, and it was LL that pushed JH in the beginning. Bloom, and Brez are definitely not pushers, and I think that’s what JH needs. LL used to run the Red Sox, and JH admitted that himself.

    Why not just say Cora said it, which is what I’ve said since it happened? That only leaves the question of why, and there are enough theories on that as it is.

    SF already had an excellent 3B, so Raffy wasn’t going to play 3B there anyway, so it wasn’t agreeing with you at all, It’s real easy disagreeing with your positions, because they most always are off base, and most likely don’t, or won’t happen. Good set up.😉

    Casas is a china doll, but he got hurt swinging the bat, and running to 1B, and not playing in the field. It’s not hard to understand to me anyway why Cora kept him at 1B, and why he kept Bogey at SS, and yes I could have understood playing Bregman at 2B. I was also never a Devers Forevers guy, but I still think the Red Sox would have still made the postseason if the Red Sox wold have kept Devers, because of how good their SP was, and I still think Raffy could have made the difference against the Yankees in Yankee Stadium in the postseason.

    Did you see the interview? I understand word is does not mean said, but it was said, and it was shown on NESN, so there shouldn’t even been a question that there still seems to be even today.

    I understand if you didn’t see the interview on NESN, but I did, so it’s Never been a question to me since it happened.

    I wouldn’t put too much stock into Raffy’s numbers at SF after the trade last year. It was probably a culture shock, and a hit to his ego getting traded. I think he loved playing in Boston. Remember the record sitting bad start at DH last year too.
