  1. Right now the top of the order needs to get better. Raffy only has an RBI in 1 game in his last 13, and Duran has an OBP of 296. Yes I know he has hit the ball hard at times, but that doesn’t show up on the most important scoreboard.
  2. Some team may need an outfielder, or an infielder while the Red Sox seem to be always in need of pitching.
  3. Leave him in everyday, and let him get consistent AB.
  4. Agree on this. I’ve said this before, but it seems Anthony, and Mayer are like money burning a hole in your pocket, and you just have to spend it, or in this case Mayer, and Anthony just have to be called up. They will get their chances. Casas needs to get going, but so does Rafffy.
  5. I think the way it looks is that Cora prefers Ref Man plays RF even in Fenway when he plays for Abreu. Duran ONLY played CF as much as he did last year, because RAF Man was playing SS. Didn’t Abreu miss some playing time last year also, which exaggerated the movement of the other OF?
  6. I was front, and center on the lowball offer, and slap in the face while doing it. My biggest beef was DD, which I said should have been a better contract in the first place with no opt-outs, which would mean this would have been the last year of the contract, and also most likely would had been no Story signing.
  7. NOBODY should be untouchable in a trade to make the team better, which would most likely be more pitching. Duran, Anthony, and Abreu are certainly not Rice, Lynne, or Evans, or Yaz, Reggie Smith, or Tony C for that matter.
  8. Yes we know that you like playing musical chairs, and the more chairs the better, which helps no player get better on D IMO.
  9. Exactly! No one was going crazy after Bogey signed the contract that he did with the Padres. Most of the complaints came when the Red Sox were lowballing Bogey when they did try to sign him at the end, and believe there was more than one calling it a slap in the face.
  10. As I said before the ist series with the White Sox, and said the same thing about this series with the White Sox that even if the Red Sox swept the series it would be nothing more than a MEH IMO. This didn’t even rate that. I applaud you diehards that actually watched this 4 game series between the two titans of swat.
  11. I think if Grissom would have played in camp like he has to start the season in Woo he would have started the year in Boston, and not KC. Mayer may have played better, but after missing valuable time on the IL the last two years he would have started the year at Woo regardless of how he played it ST.
  12. A local sports writer told me before Betts was traded that if the Red Sox let Betts go it will be the worst thing they have done since Babe Ruth. They did, and it was. Babe is still talked about today, and so is Betts, and Both will still be talked about for many years still to come, and should IMO.
  13. Not only is Story Land open, but business is Booming.
  14. Oh no! Say it ain’t so. Raffy for a bucket of balls🙈🤭. Raffy usually takes most of the abuse on the game threads, and from bat to bat depending on how he does good, or bad, so it’s nothing new.
  15. I think Casas is still in the taking imaginary swings in his head mode from last year, and it’s hard to get it out.
  16. I guess a good situation would be if Story had a good healthy year, and then opted out.
  17. You also have the Bregman situation, and will he, or won’t he.
  18. I would say this sums things up pretty well. A $30M DH, and an $18M Masa just hanging out somewhere. It’s amazing with all the scenarios that so few positions aren’t really set, or locked down, and probably won’t be anytime soon.
  19. If they can’t win this year that’ll be a very bad sign. The Big Bad A.L. East is the weakest it’s been in years IMO, and probably the whole AL for that matter too. Anything less that a winning-postseason team will be another wasted year.
  20. On paper? To me the eye test says this team isn’t even as good as their present 10-10 record. As I said before the last series with the White Sox that even if the Red Sox pull out the brooms, and sweep Chicago out of town it will be nothing more than MEH IMO. Needing more luck to only go 3-4 in one-run games? All the swings, and misses with the bats, and all those errors they could have used more skills, and fundamentals.🤭
  21. The Big Bully White Sox are coming up for 4 games, so now we’ll get to see if they still have the Red Sox number, or if the Red Sox will still be riding high off that 2 game winning streak.
  22. Bregman on paternity list. Sogard up.
  23. Yes, on Gio, and, because last seen when he did pitch he was a HR Derby pitcher. Bello is a key, but so is Houck.
  24. I agree, but that contract kind of makes it that way. It’s a long season, and the rotation started breaking down before the season even started. It will be interesting to see how Crochet looks too if he makes it to 150IP+.
  25. Cora said after the game last night along with usual we’ve got to do better that the team wasn’t ready to play last night, and that was on him. The WL record is what’s most important, but how they’ve played getting there is important too, and it’s pretty much looked that the team wasn’t even ready to start the season, and have looked like they have in past seasons, which is like a bunch of Little Leaguers, and that’s on Cora too. Geeeeesh!
