  1. Here's a clue to this bunch---men LOB. 7 official tonight. Solo HR's help but the 3 run bomb wins games. So does Freddie Galvis
  2. Hembree and Brewer remind me so much of Kelly and Kimbrel. They don't know it takes 20-25 pitches to get 3 outs
  3. Doesn't Pedroia remind you a lot of Nunez in his prime, lol
  4. The question isn't whether he forgot, it's whether he ever knew. Still very short on experience and baseball smarts. Most likely was brought up too soon and a quick bat carried him for awhile but now he isn't flashing that so much.
  5. If Jackie opened a bakery after his illustrious baseball career, his specialty would be Roll-overs Strikes out swinging, with 4 pitches in virtually the same location (low/away). Takes 2, swings at 2---no clue
  6. Here's how you lose. 2nd/3rd, 1 out and the only run scored is on a WP.
  7. Devers had no shot on a shallow fly to center. Not sure they should have killed that inning .
  8. Huge chance with 1 out, Pedey hitting, guys at second/third. Look for the curve ball away. Thank you and your curve , Sanchez, for the free run
  9. I bel;ieve only the Orio;es have surrended more, but they have won 5 games, not 3.
  10. Result a swinging K. I do wonder if the Sox analytic staff , Cora and the hitting coaches have determined why Betts has not been able to hit much back to the playoffs
  11. Yet another DP because we have a great fielding 1Bman and a $6.25 million back up for him. Don't worry, I'm sure Pearce will be needed at some point.
  12. Never a clean inning. Here comes murderer's row with Smoak up and Galvis on
  13. Time for Betts to step up and tie this game or at least move the line.
  14. EO gets 3 DPs tonight or else the score could be 10-3. No control or command and could be at 100 pitches through 5 innings. The load on the BP has been high, but overall they have dealt well wwith it.
  15. Devers joins Bradley and Price with an rbi. Maybe this can still be a turnaround win. pedey gets his 1 in a lot less AB's than the other guys
  16. 13 games in, 1 great performance by the BP with Velasquez as starter, one decent start (no win) by Sale, and 11 other pure crap
  17. JDM is the still the best rbi hitter I have seen in awhile, or since Ortiz retired
  18. All that hardware to carry home must have kept Mookie from going hard to second on the Jays outfield muff. There is something wrong with these guys and comes from inside.
  19. Even the Bruins give up a shorthanded goal via a penalty shot vs. Toronto
  20. Took a few innings but the walks caught up to Eovaldi and with 2 outs the Jays deliver a 3 run home run. Fortunately the Sox had not scored when they had the chance so Nate didn't give up a lead.
  21. While a loty of focus goes to the Sox starting pitching, that reality is that guys like Devers and Bradley have combined for a 1 rbi to date, matching David Price's total. Bogaerts has 3.
  22. Poor AB's by Bogaerts and Devers cost the Sox a big first inning bases loaded chance.
  23. Luck must be changing to get a difficult deflection DP. Good to see Bogey and Pedroia turn that, plus Mitch's stretch.
  24. When do people think the 1-2 combo of Beni and Betts will kick in, regardless of which one leads off ? Their low OBP's of .314 and .321 are lowest among the top 6 hitters in the lineup. Vazquez, Bradley , Nunez are significantly lower among those with 10 or more AB's so far.
  25. After April 30, the Sox will have played 31 games (barring rainouts). If they want to be 15-16 at that point, they need to go 12-7 (.631 pace) . 16-15 obviously takes 13-6 record(.684 pace) from here on. The 108-54 season was a .667, and the 11-3 playoffs/WS was a .785. This is essentially the same team, discounting Leon, Kimbrel, Kelly , so they could get just below or above .500 with results mimicking 2018's season pace. Easier said than done , but then they did go 17-2 in the same timeframe last year.
