  1. I really hope Erasmo enjoys being in a big league uniform for 24 hours. What a f***ed up fatboy.
  2. Maybe they ought to do a "16" in honor of A. Lincoln, and then something for the Dominicans who out number the American blacks who don't play much baseball anymore.
  3. Leon's first throw is a beaut, not to mention Nunez's alligator arm effort to catch it. So Judge steals second and winds up on third. Look out he doesn't steal home on Sale.
  4. I had the thought all off season that the WS win bought all of the FO/Cora a pass for 2019 . The thought was they could use that to reshape the next couple years. Haven't seen any progress in that direction, only a group that is underperforming beyond imagination.
  5. Bogey's hit just couldn't quite clear the wall. Fraziers just clears the wall. A 3 run difference but it doesn't look like Sale can limit the damage now. 2 innings with 2 out blowups
  6. Hah, Remy says Ellsbury is on the 6 year IL
  7. Geez, hope Mookie's bowling hand isn't injured
  8. pretty weak efforts from JDM and Pearce with shallow popups to right
  9. How did Bogey's ball bounce back after hitting the top of the wall? Hope that doesn't cost us 2. With JDM, should get at least 1.
  10. Nor on Judge's walk. Maybe Leon needs to spend a visit to remind him who is catching
  11. How many games do they have to do the "42" thing. MLB has been integrated for 70 years. Even the Red Sox are reaching 59.
  12. Since Sale is now suddenly cured of his ills, maybe it's time to try and figure out why so few guys (Ex Martinez, Bogaerts, Moreland) have been able to hit a ball very effectively
  13. Agreed. I was waiting for your observation of Sudden Sale.
  14. Sudden Sale is up to 96. Must be the glove Leon is wearing with its ball attractor/accelerator device
  15. Suddenly the Sale-Leon tandem conquers the first inning like it was 2018.
  16. Then stir the pot and make something happen. Some may not know the game started a bit early
  17. Very quick 3 and out, so now we get to see if Mr. Leon can miraculously cure Mr. Sale's recent deficiencies.
  18. Interesting that about 5 out of 9 Yankee starters are somewhat unrecognizable or previously marginal players.
  19. Even if Beni returns in a few days to a week, I'm thinking the foot will hurt like hell ( a la Mitch Moreland in '17) and affect Beni's approach AB and when running. This could be a problem at lead off where the ability to steal is a real plus .
  20. Vazquez, Bradley, Nunez, Pearce, Pedroia and Holt all hitting below .200 and especially Mookie at .222/.737 OPS are more indicators of guys not helping the cause.
  21. You are right. The time to re-energize this bunch is now , not the end of May. Too bad Swihart had to be the odd man out, but that's high level professional athletics . If it does nothing more than calm the weak minds on the mound, it will be a step in the right direction for a team that quickly lost its way. There may need to be a similar move in the bullpen beyond Walden's demo. Thornburg or Brewer need to check the roster daily going forward.
  22. Hard to argue that. I was tempted to speculate that by mid summer the Sox would make a major move at catcher by-passing Swihart and Leon, but deferred the speculation because it seemed "too early". Now , I'll say look for a different veteran catcher to show up within 60 days.
  23. If Porcello and Sale respond well to the return of Leon, then I say f*** those two. If you can't throw effective pitches, don't tell me the catcher is your problem. Swihart , in fact, did not look especially good behind the plate (blocking pitches in place) and his hitting approach looked bad the last few AB's. So , no real objection to the DFA move, but it better not be in response to possible whining from some half assed throwers who are impersonating a couple of the Sox staff.
  24. 5 games over the next 6 with Yankees and Rays will help clarify where this season may be going. Maybe everyone has the flu (probably from Holt's boy).
