  1. Giving Chris Davis new life this weekend is a rare treat. This Red Sox team needs a do over in FT. Myers for about two weeks. Really about as bad as it can get, including offense, defense, etc.
  2. Ironic that Benintendi was scheduled for a day off Sunday, but with JBJr's flu had to stay in the lineup long enough to bruise his foot on a foul. Bet he misses Monday's game and maybe more. Holt, the super utility guy will need the rest of the week to get medically cleared, then some Pawtucket AB's to try and get to speed. Meanwhile the 13 pitchers are a luxury they may not afford much longer. Some changes are coming, but the overall slow start isn't being helped by the fluctuating lineup over the next week.
  3. Good win, good pitching, key hit.
  4. I would actually hate for that to come true but be expecting a call from the 702
  5. No, I hate to disappoint you , but your fellow UCONN guy, Mattt Barnes, nibbled his way into a leadoff walk after getting the 3 run cushion
  6. What played well in that inning is that with the game on the line the true regulars, Betts-Martinez-Bogaerts, came through big. Pearce and Nunez is in their last Boston seasons, Pedey hasn't got it together yet.
  7. You are in Good Hands, my Progressive Farmer
  8. Bogaerts delivers the goods. Never saw so much power out of what appears to be a one handed swing
  9. Martinez remains amazing. Too bad Mookie wan't on second
  10. Thought Mookie might run when Pearce got to 0-2 to avoid a DP or set up JDM for an rbi single
  11. And some guys hit it back just as hard
  12. Why does Brasier nibble with his pitches? He can overpower some guys with his FB.
  13. Give Betts credit for making a Bradley type play
  14. Consider this nightmare--- you need 6 outs without allowing a run to tie the Orioles season record
  15. Houdini Price does it again, escaping the lead of double. Great game by him.
  16. Jeez, Nunez, that was the worst reaction you could have had on that pitch. The disease is infectious.
  17. You are correct, The stats take care of themselves when the W's pile up. But I guess the how you win comes into play when you continualy leave yourself vulnerable to the bounce of the ball by letting lower talent teams hang around with a chance to sting you
  18. The conclusion so far is that it is all Mookie's fault.
  19. O's pitching coach?
  20. Certainly getting a homestand under the belt has been no real answer to the opening blues. A split with the Jays of 2 games, vs the Orioles, 9th inning bouncing ball walkoff win, a terrible start by Porcello , his 3rd, followed by a BP implosion by Brewer, followed by a great start-no bat slim 1-0 lead in a game that is not over yet.
  21. Price dodges the leadoff double trouble that might have cost the lead. Excellent job by the LH'er. This is a game to now win going away. C'mon, it's the Orioles .
  22. I have noticed that a lot of observations from many commenters here somehow make into the broadcast comments , particularly by Remy. So I wouldn't automatically discount the ability to see what is actually happening with these guys occasionally. The fact that the palyers don't want to listen or act on the hints is on them. This is somewhat joking, but you can observe and note the problems.
  23. On a positive note, if the White Sox hang on vs the Yankees today, and if the Red Sox cling to the 1-0 lead through 9, we will go to NY with the same number of wins (6), although the Sox will have one more loss.
  24. Back to Betts: Hint--trying to pull outside pitches will not restore you to MVP status. I agree with Rico--this one is in his head as he tries to do too much to justify the plaudits
  25. Swihart's offensive potential upside is looking bleaker with each AB so far.
