  1. Rafaela got it home despite an odd delay. Lucky the open gate coach at 3rd waved him on. Support for Sanchez. Masa had no clue what he was doing at the plate
  2. 2 out hit ends game in 5th inning. Suarez stung with the run
  3. SS on many teams is a key hitting position as much as defense. Not so much in Boston Lots of times a long AB results in a deserved hit. Not so much for Mayer
  4. 2 soft bloops and a single followed by a flyout shows Suarez is a pitcher, not a thrower, extending his shutout matching Schlittler
  5. Who knew Seigler would be the long awaited answer at 2B ? He may know the strike zone working a BB off Schlittler
  6. Mayer has trouble discerning a ball from a strike. Then he follows the Boston Batting Way trying to upward launch everything. Results in topped bouncers and pop ups
  7. Speaking of schlit, Schlitz beer is being taken out of production. Is Narragansett still a beer ? Curt Gowdy wants to know
  8. Crappy Yankee Stadium, raindump of the world
  9. Yes, Trout's comment is a sop to a small fan bsse. But do you think he would want to leave dysfunctional Angels for the Red Sox of 2026 ? Think not. If he wanted to move think Phillies or NYY.
  10. Tough game vs Cam S. The Ranger has trouble going 5 full. Seigler will have a breakout game to help
  11. Try adding Casas. Oviedo, Houck, Crawford etc. All cost something and remain unproductive And now Jovani Moran who has been ok, except as a starter for Bello, goes on the 15 day with a elbow inflammation.
  12. Look at the money on the longer term IL list: Story, Crochet, Anthony, Sandoval .
  13. Agreed. Getting an OF'er , even just for DH purposes, doesn't work until the Masa clogged drain, or a trade of Duran is accomplished. Among IKF, Mayer, Montesorio, and Durbin one or two are better daily regulars than the other two. A permanent (2-3 yrs) 2Bman would be well worthwhile. Otherwise, The Sox will eventually need to deal with Story's final year ,2027. Mayer will be given a long trial at SS for his defense and to see if he can learn to hit MLB. Arias is not a factor until 2028.
  14. Agreed, Neto going nowhere now. Even Trout , who hamstrings the Angels with his huge contract, would not be moved , although they could then begin rebuilding. Moving Trout would be like the RS trading Betts and Devers.
  15. Rico Suave will meet his match in Yankee Stadium lest a winning streak of 2 games should break out
  16. Think of it this way. The RS , as is, will get to pay 100% of Yoshida's contract for the remainder of 2026 and all of 2027. So bite the bullet and any net reduction in a deal would be a savings The cost of the new player should stand on its own merits
  17. But Adell is a terrible catcher better suited for DH
  18. Sox do not get to use Chapman enough to keep him sharp
  19. No question that Bregman on a 4 or 5 year deal was a bad idea. Cubs will eat it .
  20. That was as shutdown as it gets. Great inning by Slaten
  21. Here we go Slaten, then Chapman. If ever Slaten could throw a shutdown inning, this would be one
  22. I hate Contreras on pop ups. That was awful. He is a pig
