  1. The conclusion so far is that it is all Mookie's fault.
  2. O's pitching coach?
  3. Certainly getting a homestand under the belt has been no real answer to the opening blues. A split with the Jays of 2 games, vs the Orioles, 9th inning bouncing ball walkoff win, a terrible start by Porcello , his 3rd, followed by a BP implosion by Brewer, followed by a great start-no bat slim 1-0 lead in a game that is not over yet.
  4. Price dodges the leadoff double trouble that might have cost the lead. Excellent job by the LH'er. This is a game to now win going away. C'mon, it's the Orioles .
  5. I have noticed that a lot of observations from many commenters here somehow make into the broadcast comments , particularly by Remy. So I wouldn't automatically discount the ability to see what is actually happening with these guys occasionally. The fact that the palyers don't want to listen or act on the hints is on them. This is somewhat joking, but you can observe and note the problems.
  6. On a positive note, if the White Sox hang on vs the Yankees today, and if the Red Sox cling to the 1-0 lead through 9, we will go to NY with the same number of wins (6), although the Sox will have one more loss.
  7. Back to Betts: Hint--trying to pull outside pitches will not restore you to MVP status. I agree with Rico--this one is in his head as he tries to do too much to justify the plaudits
  8. Swihart's offensive potential upside is looking bleaker with each AB so far.
  9. David Price carrying the load in a big way today . Tough when you have to throw shutouts to win.
  10. Beni's x-rays negative, which helps, but I still think that kind of foot contusion will cost him time. Now Swihart's covering left, which really makes me wonder about Bradley. I would have expected JDM to go to left JBJr to center and Mookie to RF. I'm sure I'm missing something. Recall that it is a short bench with Holt out, and 13 pitchers
  11. Wishing him well for the team's sake and look forward to his rebound. Right now, he needs to figure it out on offense and defense.
  12. And next month is May, followed by June, July, August, September. Why can't anyone acknowledge that this young guy is in the midst of a significant slump from the '18 playoffs, through the "doesn't matter" ST, followed by the first 16 of this season ? Betts can't carry JDM's batting gloves.
  13. 2 out double by Beni after smashing his foot. Not exactly BFD but great effort. However, I will bet he misses a week or more with a bad bone bruise or actual fracture of one the many foot bones.
  14. Messed up second inning scoring chance. It may have been unusual but when Bogaerts saw the fly and knew Martinez would at least draw the throw home, why wouldn't he have tagged and gone to second ? Then Nunez's routine DP ball may have scored a run.
  15. Jackie Bradley with 2 days off? Is there some minor injury or just let him think through his hitting ?
  16. After today, a virtual 10% of the season will be complete. The Sox have a chance to match the Orioles record with a win. If that had been written 3 weeks ago, everyone would have laughed til it hurt. Well, what happened ?
  17. The third was off the light pole
  18. Happy to see Vazquez's 2 run shot. He had 3 pitches in the same spot and was wondering why he didn't golf the first two in to the Monster
  19. WTH happened in that 3rd inning. Suddenly, he is Cy Young again. Weirdest individual since Bill Lee
  20. 46 pitches to get 5 outs, bases loaded with 2 outs. Either Porcello "saves " his game right here or time to leave the mound.
  21. The first shall be second and the second , first. Curing lineup inequality
  22. Pearce saves Devers bacon
  23. Dropping Leon (to be clear, I'm not in the Leon saves the world group)
  24. After all this time and experience, he seems never ready to pitch in the first inning. I saw him warmup to start vs the Rays a couple years ago and his preparation for the start took about 45 minutes. He pitched well that night.
  25. Porcello is beyond pitiful, so predictable
