  1. I'm salivating at the thought of our lineup being at 50% strength this weekend: 1. LeMahieu 1B 2. Voit DH 3. Sanchez C 4. Torres 2B 5. Andujar 3B 6. Frazier LF 7. Gardner CF 8. Tulo SS 9. Tauchman RF
  2. Our AAAA players hadn't seen a high end pitcher like Greinke yet and it showed. Greinke seemed pretty hittable, leaving a bunch of pitches over the middle of the plate. The top of the order (Gardner-Voit-Sanchez-Torres) capitalized on it a bit, going 4 for 15 with two 2Bs and a BB. But the newbies/re-treads were lost, going 1 for 15 (the hit was an infield single) with 6 Ks. They've performed admirably to date but I don't think we can count on them much longer with a string of above average opponents coming up.
  3. We'll trade you Cameron Maybin for him
  4. Time to trade away the lefties for some righties.
  5. At least it appears that DJ And Urshela avoided any significant injuries. I have no idea who would have been called up/added to replace two infielders.
  6. And of course Lamaheau exits the game with some injury
  7. He looks pretty hefty for such a young player. I wonder if there's some Sandoval in his future.
  8. For real. On paper this is probably the worst lineup in baseball. Okay maybe not worse than the Giants. But it amazes me every time they score a run. And they've been scoring a lot.
  9. Crummy loss last night. Tanaka went from dominating the first four innings to s***ing his pants in the fifth. And then to bring in Holder with the game tied and men on base, even though Kahnle/Ottavino hadn't pitched since Monday? And then he ended up using Kanhle anyway when we were down 6 runs. Boone's bullpen choices are befuddling sometimes. Anywayyyy... I'll still take a series win on the road everyday of the week. Let's get another one against the Giants. Pitchers will be batting these next five games so hopefully there aren't any stupid baserunning injuries.
  10. Internet sarcasm is often ineffective
  11. No biggie, our 9th outfielder on the depth chart is just as good. At a minimum he should put up some JBJ-type numbers.
  12. Yankees have acquired Cameron Maybin. Not sure of the details yet. Loaisaga was sent down to AAA last night so I'm assuming he will take that spot.
  13. Our guys are doing enough to win and making clutch plays when needed, but boy the Angels must really stink. I need to see what their fans are saying. That is if Angels fan still exist. Also just saw that the Yankees 7-8-9 hitters have the following slash line this season: .292/.357/.496/.853 (all tops in the majors)
  14. Can't catch a break. But we are playing a lot better with our AAA squad so maybe it'll work out. Sanchez came back and was the worst player on the field last night.
  15. You could probably get Merrifield without including Devers, but it would likely cost some combination of D Hernandez, Chavis, Casas, and taking on a large unwanted contract from their books.
  16. Well that didn't take long. He was sent down to AAA in exchange for Stephen Tarpley this afternoon. Sanchez also called up to replace Higashioka.
  17. Strange. Ottavino hasn't been lights out but he still has a 2.77 ERA and 11.8 K/9 rate. Not sure if there are 250 relievers who have done better than that.
  18. Since we're talking ridiculous ideas, why not just make Sale the long closer. Bring him into the 7th inning when you have a lead and let him pitch 3 innings.
  19. Estrada looked pretty good at the plate and on the field. It's an extremely SSS but if he continues to show quality ABs and strong fielding then Wade may lose his utility role. Also, Chad Green is the most trash pitcher I've seen. At least right now while he's in this funk. Will he ever get back to being formidable or at least average? I think he still has minor league options, it might be time to get sent down to work on his mechanics/other pitches/brain health.
  20. I'm guessing Harvey will be back pretty soon. They just needed a long man for today with the bullpen burnt out and German, who could give us anywhere from 2 to 7 innings, pitching tonight.
  21. He has a huge arm but I'm pretty sure his fielding is even worse than Andujar's from what I've read.
  22. The new and unimproved lineup is pretty dreadful (as evidenced by Matt Harvey cruising through 6 innings in under 80 pitches). But the pitching is really keeping them in games, specifically the starting pitching. I think they have a sub-2 ERA over the past 9 or so games. Granted we haven't played anyone good, but still impressive. Boone is mostly an idiot but he deserves some credit for keeping this team motivated despite the litany of injuries.
  23. Blah I hate these West coast trips. I stayed up until 2 just to see Chapman blow it. Tired as s*** for work now.
  24. Are you blaming Jesus????
  25. I'm glad they're not saying how long he'll be out. They said Hicks would only be a few days and it's been almost two months. These guys don't know s***.
