  1. Another rainout. This weather is ass. The northeast is like a cold tropical rainforest.
  2. I'm on the fence about surgery. If he doesn't actually need it then I'm against it. I think the team just rushed him back too soon from rehabbing his shoulder. I'd put him on the IL for awhile and keep playing Urshela at third while he's hot. Hopefully Didi will be back before the ASB and then we can slide Torres to 2nd and LeMahieu over to 3rd (if Urshela is no longer hitting).
  3. Hicks called up today with Tauchman being sent down. Sucks for Tauch, he was actually playing better these last two weeks. Also Loaisaga was supposed to start today but was put on the IL with a shoulder strain (what else is new). Chance Adams coming up in his place to start tonight. He hasn't pitched in AAA since last Tuesday so he should be able to eat some innings (if he lasts long enough). Edit: It looks like Cessa is actually going to start (or be the opener). I imagine he'll go a few innings and then they'll go to Chance.
  4. Good Tanaka is good.
  5. Taking 2 out of 3 from the Rays in their s*** stadium is as much as we could have asked for. Also handed losses to Glasnow and Snell. This team continues to impress despite current shortcomings.
  6. It's funny, I've always thought of Maybin as a young player because the story around him has always been "he's raw but he has all the tools you're looking for". Now at 32 years old and in his 13th season, I think we can stop referring to him as a kid. Nomenclature aside, Maybin has done more for the team than anyone could have reasonably expected. Cashman wins again.
  7. No doubt your team looks a lot better now than at the start of the year. But Boston has basically only played the O's and White Sox in May.
  8. Manny Machado: .237/.316/.432/.748, 101 wRC+, 0.8 WAR Gio Urshela: .354/.416/.532/.947, 156 wRC+, 0.9 WAR This is obviously sustainable over the course of the year. Cashman iz a genius.
  9. Possibly. I know Homer Bailey has also thrown two no hitters so it's a close call.
  10. The only thing more shocking than Mike Fiers throwing a no-hitter is finding out that it's the second time he's done it.
  11. After starting out 13-2 with a +42 run differential, the Mariners have gone 6-17 with a -37 run differential. Looks like the Sox just played them at the wrong time. But it also didn't help that your team was playing like dogshit to start the season.
  12. Pulled that win out of our ass, can't complain though. Gotta keep playing Urshela at 3rd while he's hot.
  13. Yeah I don't know at what point they shift from saying it's bad luck to saying it's a poor job done by the training staff. Some injuries were unavoidable but many were just muscle pulls and strains. Maybe I'm just mad but I would fire someone.
  14. Frazier is back so I'm just waiting to see who replaces him on the IL tonight
  15. Chris Sale. I've always wanted to hug a giant piece of celery.
  16. Females are attracted to the 4 C's. You have you be Cute, Charming, Classy, and have a big CPA certificate.
  17. Maybe Sanchez too if he stays healthy
  18. Par for the course. One guy coming back so someone needs to take his spot on the IL.
  19. Andujar is in the stadium but not activated from the IL. Should be back in the lineup at some point this weekend. Also LaMehieu is still out of the lineup. Despite him supposedly being available off the bench since Tuesday. Sigh.
  20. I will never be able to look at Timon & Pumba the same way again
  21. Oh well. At least Ellsbury and Bird have another friend on the permanent IL to hang with.
  22. Well at least we're not getting shut out anymore.
  23. I know these last two games must have felt like 10 wins for you guys, but the Sox will still be 6 back of the Rays and 4 back of the Yanks (in the L Column) if they both lose. Not hatin', just sayin'
  24. I thought grey was just how fancy people spelled it. Kinda like how fancy people pronounce vase (voz) while commoners say vase (vayz).
