  1. Sabathia officially to the IL. I believe he went on the IL last year for the same knee issue. Has to drain the fluid, get a cortisone shot, rest, etc. I think it cost him about 3 weeks last season.
  2. We've been getting by without him, but I'd say it's more because of the pitching. Our hitting has been pretty mediocre when we aren't facing the O's. Maybin has done enough to not be a negative but having Stanton in the lineup over him makes a huge difference.
  3. Why is JD out again? He's messing up my fantasy lineup. Get the man some Kleenex and a damn bat.
  4. Doesn't sound too bad. It'll be just like that movie Mr. Baseball, except he'll be young and rich.
  5. So what's the issue with Stroman? He threw a quick pitch?
  6. Orioles are trash. Blow that huge lead. We pretty good too though.
  7. Or you can get a case of Kirkland brand water there for $3. Although I'm pretty sure they fill those bottles up at the water fountain.
  8. I feel like I've seen Edwin Jackson pitching in the bigs for the past 20 years. This guy has sucked for awhile, I dunno how he has such longevity.
  9. Nice series win this weekend. It would be easy to have a let down now against the hapless O's, hopefully our guys are still sharp.
  10. Meh can only blame Boone for so much. Scoring 1 run in 11 innings will lose you 99% of all games.
  11. Yeah but he was good for at least one leaping throw across his body each season (except when he was an old man)
  12. Well since Panda left a couple years ago and Hanley left last year, someone else needs to fill the role of fattest player on the team. Could end up being Devers though!
  13. I've never watched Marquez pitch but I hear he's very good. Should be a good test for him and for your offense.
  14. Another rainout. This weather is ass. The northeast is like a cold tropical rainforest.
  15. I'm on the fence about surgery. If he doesn't actually need it then I'm against it. I think the team just rushed him back too soon from rehabbing his shoulder. I'd put him on the IL for awhile and keep playing Urshela at third while he's hot. Hopefully Didi will be back before the ASB and then we can slide Torres to 2nd and LeMahieu over to 3rd (if Urshela is no longer hitting).
  16. Hicks called up today with Tauchman being sent down. Sucks for Tauch, he was actually playing better these last two weeks. Also Loaisaga was supposed to start today but was put on the IL with a shoulder strain (what else is new). Chance Adams coming up in his place to start tonight. He hasn't pitched in AAA since last Tuesday so he should be able to eat some innings (if he lasts long enough). Edit: It looks like Cessa is actually going to start (or be the opener). I imagine he'll go a few innings and then they'll go to Chance.
  17. Good Tanaka is good.
  18. Taking 2 out of 3 from the Rays in their s*** stadium is as much as we could have asked for. Also handed losses to Glasnow and Snell. This team continues to impress despite current shortcomings.
  19. It's funny, I've always thought of Maybin as a young player because the story around him has always been "he's raw but he has all the tools you're looking for". Now at 32 years old and in his 13th season, I think we can stop referring to him as a kid. Nomenclature aside, Maybin has done more for the team than anyone could have reasonably expected. Cashman wins again.
  20. No doubt your team looks a lot better now than at the start of the year. But Boston has basically only played the O's and White Sox in May.
  21. Manny Machado: .237/.316/.432/.748, 101 wRC+, 0.8 WAR Gio Urshela: .354/.416/.532/.947, 156 wRC+, 0.9 WAR This is obviously sustainable over the course of the year. Cashman iz a genius.
  22. Possibly. I know Homer Bailey has also thrown two no hitters so it's a close call.
  23. The only thing more shocking than Mike Fiers throwing a no-hitter is finding out that it's the second time he's done it.
