  1. Especially when I read “Cheated” by Andy Martino. According to him, Cora was way more involved than I realized. He practically was the scandal. Hinch was an innocent bystander…
  2. Just one Mad Stork post. I filed it under “Blind Squirrel”…
  3. I do have mixed emotions on him, primarily due to his disingenuous activities in Houston…
  4. A malcontent? I still like Yoshida and haven’t written off Grissom yet. And I never hated on Yorke and still like Mayer…
  5. It barely comes up. But what is the criteria for complaining?
  6. It didn’t help that he was acquired to be a closer but instead wound up pitching games in which the Sox trailed or had big leads…
  7. While Sogard was the Ciriaco of Spring Training, why not Meidroth?
  8. The starting points were not equal. Fedde was a thrice ranked BA Top 100 prospect. Kelly was just some guy from ASU…
  9. Sox really do need an actual 2b. I’m hoping Grissom can rebound. Hamilton has some pros but also some cons. Valdez is a one dimensional player who should never have even purchased a glove. Westbrook lived his childhood dream. But he wasn’t the answer to anything…
  10. No. Kluber was disastrous. Not like we ever forgot and forgave Eric Gagne…
  11. If I ever get control of Edman and prospects I’ll call you and we can deal…
  12. If Fedde re-invented himself in KBO, he wouldn’t be the first. No one heard of Merrill Kelly before he came back from Korea…
  13. So re-sign Dom Smith at 3yrs /$60mill?
  14. I will admit, I was happier with the “1” than the “10”. Any contract can go sour, but the ones that go sour and disappear immediately are much less detrimental…
  15. What? Dumpster Diving works on occasion?!? Just because about 20% of the Sox current MLB roster is successful dives doesn’t mean they need to do it!!
  16. I like the trade. Sox have plenty of depth behind/in front of Yorke. But the Yorke Hate, such as calling him the worst first round pick in team history, has gotten out of hand. Bloom liked Yorke and probably took him at his only chance to get him. The guy made it to AAA, which is not a given among Sox first rounders. And Pitt liked him enough to give up a 23yo pitcher with MLB experience. Also if Yorke hit .750, he’d be the Sox best option at 2b this year. Heck he’d be their best if he hit .700…
  17. Let the record show for the first time, the Stork is actually right. And Randy’s weird preoccupation with Yorke is bordering on requiring medical attention…
  18. And how should the Sox have filled those two empty bullpen slots? They didn’t have much internally. Trades are simply not always an option right away, and trading is really always the last resort. That leaves the waiver wire. Or scouring the Dark Web. Or your preferred option of just being short-handed. (I did look up and see technically Wingenter was acquired in a trade with Detroit, but only added to the 49 man later.)
  19. At some point, just because you added someone doesn’t make it an improvement. Just ask Eric Gagne…
  20. No one has to catch the ball. It’s still interference…
  21. Unfortunately the right one…
  22. Still a clueless play by O’Neill. Infield fly is called. Just go to first base ASAP…
  23. 98 pitches. 2 walks…
