  1. No, Joe is still around. Thing is, West can be a really good ump when he decides to be. Angel is simply incompetent.
  2. Sale and to a lesser extent Price have to be wondering where is all this offense when we’re on the mound.
  3. He’s been correct on the time calls though. Both times the Yanks have bitched, Porcello was halfway through his motion. I’d like to see more ps call it that way.
  4. As indicated, I have the MLB Network broadcast tonight. They’re putting these up. Costas has nothing to cheer about tonight.
  5. Not a bad pitch; top of the strike zone. Kid put a good swing on it.
  6. Porcello is the first pitcher in the 20th or 21st century to receive 10+ runs in 5 consecutive starts. The last time it happened was 1896.
  7. MLB network stat Only one Yankee pitcher has ever given up more earned runs in a game than Tanaka’s 12 tonight. Carl Mays gave up 13 in a game in 1923.
  8. MLB network just put up a stat: Tanska’s ERA against the Sox this year is 33.75. Edit - Moreland’s hit just raised it to 38.25. 2nd Edit- Vazquez makes it 40.50
  9. I agree. Tauchman should have been tossed.
  10. He wasn’t going to score on the 3rd inning double; Betts wouldn’t have scored on it. The one in the first okay, yeah, although Mookie made it a moot point.
  11. Ultimately the protest will go nowhere, since it had no material affect on the outcome of the game. That's the proviso that MLB uses to get around technical violations that don't really amount to anything. However, there may well be some clarification in the rule book and/or case book to codify what should happen in these situations.
  12. This time? Nothing. The thread is 2 years old and I guess there were conflicting reports about his involvement then.
  13. Mueller’s hit came with no one out.
  14. And all any of this shows is that 99% reliable is not 100% reliable.
  15. People forget that Rivera also blew a save in the 8th inning of Game 5 when he allowed a game tying sac fly by Varitek. But I think he came in with the guys on 1st and 3rd and no one out; an incredibly tougher situation. Still, there’s no one else I would have wanted on the mound in those situations.
  16. New rules this year; no trades after July 31. You can still pick up a player in August if he is put on outright waivers and you claim him or he is released, but no trades are allowed.
  17. That will increase offense even more. About a decade ago in high school softball, they moved the pitching circle back from 40 to 43 feet, offense went up a lot.
  18. In fact, he may have been easier to hit if he was throwing harder. When you’re geared to 90+, adjusting to 70 is hard.
  19. Exactly. But there are impatient posters here who demand perfection to start, and then improvement from there.
  20. Pretty obvious Eovaldi needs reps. What’d he throw, 1 minor league rehab inning? The stuff is there.
  21. It wasn't just 3 games to none, it was 3.9 games to none with the GOAT on the hill for the Yanks for the last 3 outs.
