  1. If I could figure out how to get that thumbs up emoji to work here ...
  2. I agree with the old 2nd baseman. The ST approach might explain April; it has nothing to do with now.
  3. You’re doing a lousy SwihartsGhost imitation.
  4. You know you really are turning into a clown poster. Right now I’m trying to decide who’s worse, you or d-money. Either way, bye-bye.
  5. No they won’t, unless there is a total collapse or a fire sale. For whatever reason the Jays have played the Sox tough but not so much the rest of the league.
  6. I like this Sogards kid. He knows his limitations and has a great approach.
  7. Personally, I like having Hernandez up with the big club. He could and should learn and improve. Ditto Taylor. Guys like Velazquez and Brasier are what they are and have reached their low ceilings.
  8. You aren’t going to get one for just Beni and it’s obvious DD has been instructed to stay under the salary cap level; that makes it very difficult to do.
  9. Nah, we see them way too often. Somebody would recognize him.
  10. I did look up Pearce. Apparently he did something to his knee at the beginning of the month during his rehab at Pawtucket. The article said he doesn’t need surgery, but he will be out for an extended period of time. Translation - his time with Boston is done, and his career is hanging on life support.
  11. Moreland is could be back this weekend or early next week. I think Pearce is in witness protection.
  12. Agreed, but it’s why he’s here right now. Holt is hitting sub-200 against lefties this year, although he’s had very few ABs.
  13. Some nasty pitches from the Blue Jay lefty. Every one was on the edge of the strike zone. Travis never had anything really hittable.
  14. He can throw, but for a guy who works with the Molina’s, his glove work is less than stellar.
  15. Giving up homers is not a big deal. These are big league hitters, they are going to hit them. As was pointed out last night, Justin Verlander leads the majors in homers allowed with 25 or 26, which is 10 more than Porcello; he has given up more than Porcello the last 3 years combined as well. The key is giving up solo shots or 2 run homers at most. The 3 run and grannies are what kill you. Jim Palmer gave up a ton of homers. He never allowed a grand slam and only a handful of 3 run shots. Didn’t stop him from getting to Cooperstown.
  16. Exactly. Do the naysayers think Velazquez would have fared better? As I posted earlier, he hasn’t pitched since the 6th. That’s a long time off for a guy who has to rely on control.
  17. Figures. Tellez, rookie Sox killer, goes down and Slovak, multi-season Sox killer, wakes up.
  18. It all started with a get me over fastball on a 3-0 pitch.
  19. What? You lose a lot of credibility with posts like that.
