  1. He’ll pick tonight to have his best game of the season.
  2. Then why are people allowed to be in their seats? When I’ve gone to events with lightning, you have to clear the stands.
  3. I wonder if Happ was somehow delayed in returning from paternity leave but is on his way to the ball park. Cause it sure ain’t raining.
  4. This I agree with. It's been an organizational thing from top to bottom. Check that - I'll absolve the batboys and ballgirls from any blame.
  5. Moon, they won’t call unless he tendered and is on contract. If he’s awarded a lower figure than this year, maybe they can trade him. If he’s awarded a higher figure, there’s no way he’ll be traded without the Sox picking up part of the contract, which sort of defeats the purpose. If he’s non-tendered, he’s a free agent.
  6. This has all the potential of the September 2011 collapse.
  7. I’d love to see Cora pull an Earl Weaver with Estabrook at the home plate meeting tonight.
  8. Well, don’t tell us, tell Cora and Dombrowski. I’m sure they’ll give it due consideration.
  9. The few pitches he threw up in the zone were correctly called. Sale did not get those same pitches. I don’t care if the ump has a small zone or a big one or if it’s shifted in or out one way or the other so long as it’s consistent for both sides. It wasn’t.
  10. He will be gone or reassigned next year. He will no longer be the pitching coach though.
  11. I don’t care about him one way or the other. But today it’s 3 innings, 3 hits, 1 run. He’s been fine.
  12. German got the entire true strike zone plus extra. Sale got less than the full true zone.
  13. And if he’s squeezing both I have no problem. He was only squeezing one of them and it affected the game.
  14. Your blood pressure spiked today because of Josh Smith?
  15. He’s called a total strike zone plus for German. He called a reduced strike zone for Sale. Like I said, unlike some here, I don’t complain about umps very much. This guy was brutally one sided.
  16. This is a very trolling post. You’re better than that. Sox hitters have had several pitches called strikes on them at the top of the zone. They’ve had several called strikes down and away as well. Yankee hitters have not had the same strike zone. I don’t normally complain about umps but this guy is totally one sided. Care to explain the Judge call?
  17. Yep. At the very least he can spend a lot of time on paperwork.
  18. Sox hitters are definitely not getting the same strike zone as Yankees hitters.
  19. This won’t be the only ejection today. Sox ought to be screaming on anything resembling borderline. Clown can toss the whole team and save the pen.
  20. He needed to get tossed before the acting manager came out. Then the reliever could take forever to warm up.
  21. Sale needs to get tossed on some pitch; then have the new reliever take about an hour to warm up.
  22. He pitched like 6 innings (one inning at a time) since he was cleared to throw. There is no way he is stretched out enough to go even 3 innings, much less what a starter should at least be expected to go. The are paying him too much over the next few years to risk blowing out his arm. He'll be back as a starter next year.
  23. If they non-tender him, he does become a free agent able to sign anywhere. I think he will be non-tendered but there is no way he will resign with Boston. I also think he will be very surprised how little he will be offered elsewhere. OTOH, one also wonders how much he actually likes playing baseball. He has had multiple hitting coaches, none of whom have been able to get through to him. JDM changed his whole approach to become what he has been the last few years. Ortiz studied hitting. JBJ has never changed his approach; frankly, I don't really think he actually has a hitting approach other than swing hard and hope it connects. His D is still very good, but, while I don't see all games, I think it has slipped a little this season. There are others out there who are almost as good defensively, hit more consistently and are cheaper.
