  1. Also, how nice was it to sweep Buck "It's not my job to eliminate the Yankees" Showalter and his dreadful Os? Not to mention quiet the ever so annoying Gary Thorne in the process.
  2. While it would be nice for Sale to get some rest, I have no problem with Farrell leaving Sale in the game. 1. Sale didn't have any high stress innings. 2. He was not laboring. He still looked strong at the end of the game. 3. He already gets an extra day off with today's off day. 4. After his last couple of starts, letting him stay in and have a dominating outing, while earning his 300th K, has to be a boost to him mentally. 5. There is no way Sale would have wanted to come out of that game.
  3. Brach's adrenaline did the Os in.
  4. Go Pablo! I hope you enjoyed the game!
  5. It's odd because not too long ago, there were tons of complaints when Farrell started Fister in place of Sale, and that's when it was still marathon time, and getting Sale some extra rest made sense. This is not the time to rest him.
  6. I thought the deal for Pomeranz was an overpay, but it was necessary. What irked me the most about it was Dombrowski not backing out of the deal when he found out that Pom was damaged goods. I guess Dombrowski knew something that we didn't. It's too early to know whether this is a great deal or not, but right now, it looks great. Pom has been a huge part of our late season success. However, he is likely due for some regression next year.
  7. LOL It's uncanny.
  8. The Sox can clinch a playoff berth tonight with a win and an Angels loss. Not that it matters much. We all want the division.
  9. Unfortunately, this is true. You should be leading the division. I do not want to face you guys in the playoffs.
  10. It was the heart of the Os order in perhaps the most high leverage situation you can have. And he had to get an extra out. I'm not a fan of 'saves', but that is what I call a save. Great job.
  11. Agreed. Until the division is wrapped up, Farrell needs to go pretty much all out. As the saying goes, they can rest in November.
  12. Welcome aboard!
  13. Oh!
  14. John Farrell: "Our group has got such grit, such determination. The competitiveness, there’s no quit in them."
  15. Official scorers = strong bias
  16. My man.
  17. There would be no shortage of at bats for Nunez, that's for sure. Having a player like him would be good insurance for Pedroia, and to a lesser extent Devers and Bogaerts. I'm just afraid that he will be looking for more than the Sox are willing to pay. Nunez did say that he would be interested in returning, so that's encouraging.
  18. Cleveland is going to be tough, for sure. At least they're a likable team if they should go on to win it all. LOL
  19. Annoying Yankees fans is kind of redundant, no? The better the Yankees are doing, the more annoying they get. There doesn't even have to be a lot of them. One or two of them is enough.
  20. That's a BINGO! If we don't win it all, let it be anyone but the Yankees.
  21. Their run differential tells you all you need to know.
  22. I think the Guardians are the better team, but I'd be more nervous facing the Yankees for the reason stated above. That said, I think the Yankees are better than you give them credit for.
  23. Haha! Well played. I think, actually, I know that a large part of the reason why I don't want to face the Yankees is because it would absolutely crush me if they eliminated us. It would hurt to be eliminated by any team in the playoffs, but I could deal with it if it's the Astros or the Guardians. I'd rather not even face the possibility of the Yankees taking us out.
  24. I don't disagree that we needed to sign acquire an ace type pitcher in 2016. I just think that Dombrowski went to an extreme, and that he could have built a pretty good staff without giving up as much as he did, in terms of both money and prospects.
  25. Farrell made a comment that he thinks Price could be for us what Andrew Miller was for the Tribe last year. I'm not sure about all that, but Price did look awfully good in his bullpen outing a couple of days ago.
