  1. Haha. Exactly.
  2. Well, I disagree. I didn't say that it's not a bonehead play (although in some cases I think that's a judgment call), just that I 100% believe that trying to do too much or trying to make something happen can lead to some bonehead plays.
  3. That doesn't change the fact that I am honest and refreshing.
  4. Remy needs to get healthy and they need to bring back Remy and Orsillo. Those two were awesome together. And throw in Alex Speier with them, just for good measure.
  5. I loved Pedro and Manny, but you're right. I probably would have hated both of them if they were on other teams.
  6. That really is an incredible feat, having your Opening Day rotation make every start of the season.
  7. Unfortunately, you are correct about the Yankees. They have played better ball than the Sox and they should be in first place. That said, the Red Sox are a pretty good team in their own right.
  8. The Guardians run differential is what scares me. Their streak means little, but that run differential is telling. Not that we can't beat them. We certainly can, but they are a darn good team.
  9. This team's inability to score runs has been a source of frustration all season long. You are right about our hitters taking good pitches right down the middle and swinging at pitches way out of the zone. It seems like that is happening way more this year with Bogaerts, Betts, and Hanley. It's like they lost their pitch recognition ability.
  10. Run Differential
  11. I think the word we're looking for here is 'enigma'.
  12. The run differential is really the bottom line. OK, not really. Wins and losses are. But in terms of how good a team is overall, run differential is it. It doesn't matter whether the run differential comes from pitching or hitting.
  13. Just a friendly reminder to all - We got this!
  14. I just can't wait for next season to start!
  15. Moon, I get the difference between boneheaded and aggressiveness, and I understand that you are talking about the boneheaded plays. I still think that boneheaded plays can be caused by trying to do too much. Forgetting how many outs there are is not a case of trying to do too much. But trying to advance to 3rd on a ground ball hit in front of you certainly could be. If I'm not mistaken, you have called that a boneheaded play, to which I agree. My point is that I could see that play and some other boneheaded things being done by a player that is trying too hard to make something happen.
  16. I hate the Yankees, and as much as it pains me to say it, I would rather be in the Yankees situation moving forward to the longer term than in ours.
  17. That's fine. Even though forecasters/models can't predict with certainty what will happen that far out, they make their best predictions based on what they know now. If things don't change, those forecasts are likely to become an accurate reality. If things do change, the forecasts will be updated. The same holds true with the cliff. We have all acknowledged that a lot can happen between now and 2020. Based on where we stand right now, a 3 year window with impending cliff is an accurate prediction.
  18. !!!
  19. I fully endorse this post. Well said.
  20. If Price makes it back, the question is whether we want him pitching out of the rotation or out of the pen in the playoffs. Right now, I'm leaning towards the pen, but that could change over the next couple of weeks.
  21. Hopefully, we didn't use all of our runs up last night. My money is on Fister and the Sox! WIN!!!
  22. What an incredible run. I'm happy for Tito.
  23. IMO, Kluber has passed Sale as the favorite.
  24. Rebuilding a rotation from the top would be the preferred method, but as you said, it's easier said than done. It also depends on team needs. If a team doesn't need a #1 starter, would it benefit more by picking up a mid rotation guy and focusing its resources on hitting? My point really wasn't about how to build a rotation though. I realize that you can't build an entire rotation with Fister type deals. I just really like those kinds of finds.
  25. Glad to hear it oldtimer.
