  1. Fingers crossed. I really, really want him to pitch well, and not just because that would benefit the team. I want him to pitch well for himself, and hopefully, get over this postseason 'thing'.
  2. LOL Nice!
  3. Again, I think we could limit some of the variability and some of the errors if the umpires were held more accountable. No, they will never be perfect in making the calls, but I don't want them to be.
  4. No kidding. I've seen that happen with a couple of walk off wins too. That's one of reasons why I am against replay.
  5. I really hope not.
  6. I agree that the Astros are the strongest of the 4 teams remaining. I don't think it's by a huge margin over the Sox though. As far as Price pitching well, maybe it's more wishful thinking than anything else, but he is such a good pitcher that it surprises me that he hasn't pitched well in the postseason. He's due. Keep the faith!
  7. Makes perfect sense to me.
  8. I am really looking forward to the Verlander/Sale matchup. It should be a great one. I love the positive vibes! Let's do this team! Go Sox!!!
  9. Back when Cora was still playing, I remember Remy (or somebody) saying that you will never see Cora make a mental mistake. Errors, yes. Mental mistakes, no. In addition to the preparation that he does, Cora is always 100% in the game.
  10. I tend to agree with this. I think CC will be back. And he does have some value.
  11. I don't blame you.
  12. As I posted about the Red Sox past eliminations, it always hurts. It doesn't take anything away from how enjoyable the regular season might have been, but it always hurts to be eliminated.
  13. I agree, it didn't make much sense. With the bullpen that they have, Boone should have pulled Sabathia at the first sign of trouble. Maybe Boone was trying to show CC some respect or something, I don't know. It worked out for us, thankfully.
  14. LOL Stat geek. BIG difference. I'm actually kind of cool.
  15. I can't go as far as saying we will win it all, but I like our chances as much as anyone else's. There are always those 'crap shoot' and 'randomness' factors to consider, but we are a very, very good team. And I believe that Price will pitch well in this series.
  16. The financial shackles will come off, but that doesn't mean that the Yankees will have any kind of edge next year. Don't sell the Good Guys short.
  17. I'm not saying that Kelly was the answer there, just that Cora had him warming in the pen. If Torres had reached, I think Kelly was coming in.
  18. I tend to agree. If a reliever comes in and breezes through an inning, why not leave him in for another inning? Sometimes the next reliever that comes in ends up being ineffective. This has always been my opinion, not just in this game and not just with Cora. That said, Cora is the man.
  19. Yes, Kelly was indeed warming in the pen.
  20. It's nice when Jacko predicts things like this. They always seem to backfire. If I recall correctly, Jacko is responsible for getting Devers going earlier this season.
  21. Say what you will about Price's lack of pitching in the postseason, but as someone else has mentioned, at least he owns it. He came back to the dugout and watched the rest of the game with his teammates. He made no excuses.
