  1. I'm sure it's been posted many times already in this thread (which I don't have time to read all of), but I need to give a shout out to Price for coming up huge last night. Right on, David!
  2. That's really too bad. I didn't realize they were such sore losers. And to think, I was really happy for them that they won the Series last year, once the Sox were eliminated. Oh well, suck it up Houston fans!
  3. Apparently, Verlander's been hanging around his whiny girlfriend too long. LOL But I was going to say the exact same thing. I am sure the Astros have benefited from well more than their share of those 'cheap' home runs. At least the Yankees pitchers didn't whine about Vazquez' home run to short right field. At least I hope they didn't.
  4. Ha. Great minds....
  5. This post pretty much ensures that the Sox are clinching tonight. Thanks!
  6. LOL Did you read the qualifications for the job? As much as I like to think that I'm a stat geek, I can't hold a candle to the Mitchel Lichtmans and the Dave Camerons of the world. I should take the Yankees job though. I could really mess them up.
  7. It's the postseason. Take all of the regular season numbers and throw them out the window. The Sox are the better team, but I wouldn't take the Dodgers lightly. One game at a time.
  8. Please, no. Just no.
  9. Dear Red Sox, Please win tonight. Thanks, Kimmi
  10. We have a very good chance of winning it tonight. This has the makings of a reverse lock mojo game.
  11. Verlander is due for a clunker.
  12. I have no argument here. Part of the fan experience is trying to grab a foul ball or a home run ball. Fans are going to grab for those balls. I don't know if there's an easy solution with the way the stadiums are built.
  13. I'm sure money is a big part of why MLB hasn't done something about it. That said, there's no interference in other sports because baseball is unique to fan interference, isn't it? For several reasons, IMO. You don't have players trying to hit, kick, etc. the ball out of the field of play in other sports, like batters hitting home runs. In other sports, I believe that once the ball is off the field of play, or out of bounds, it's a dead ball. Not the case with baseball.
  14. If the Sox signed Machado, I would have no choice but to root for him to do well. I don't want to be put in the dilemma. He's a punk. Pass on him. Besides, I like the left side of our infield just the way it is.
  15. What's wrong with figure skating?
  16. I, along with many others, have always felt like your 'closer' should come into the later innings whenever the game really needs saving. If that's in the 7th inning, then so be it. Make it through the high leverage 7th inning, then worry about the 8th and 9th innings when you get there. There's no point in saving your best reliever for a 9th inning save that may never come.
  17. Exactly.
  18. I'm not sure that anyone besides Dodgers fans are actually pulling for the Dodgers to win.
  19. Ha. You are the ultimate geek. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Sheldon Cooper is my hero.
  20. Oh, that would be my dream job.
  21. I hear you Thunder. I hope you and your friend both get well quickly.
  22. At his age, he should be able to pull an all nighter with no problem.
