  1. Maybe Jackie sits out 2 and Beni sits out one? Or better yet, we wrap this series up in 4 games and make that 3rd road game a moot point.
  2. LOL Breaking news: Sale is out of Mass General and will start Game 1 on Tuesday.
  3. Station is the man!
  4. Bottom line, Kimbrel has gotten the job done. He's probably aged us a few years along the way, but he's gotten the job done.
  5. LOL Where's the "Is it over thread"?
  6. Dombrowski and Cora both deserve a lot of credit for this year. I am a huge Cora fan. Dombrowski, not so much, though I am a fan of his midseason moves. That said, regardless of how good this team is and how well prepared they are, it still takes luck (or a minimal number of bad breaks) to win a championship. Things have gone really, really well for us so far. The World Series should be ours for the taking. I really like our chances, obviously even more so than I did at the beginning of the postseason and at the beginning of the ALCS. If by some chance the Sox fall short, I think it would be hard pressed for anyone to fault either Cora or Dombrowski.
  7. We love Jacko. We owe our season to him.
  8. Go figure. What a crazy game this game of baseball is. Also, let me add again that momentum means nothing in baseball in terms of predicting future games.
  9. Of course he is. He will walk the bases loaded and cut a 3 run lead down to 2, but when he really needs to make the pitch, he's there!
  10. Re-signing Eovaldi should take precedence over re-signing Kimbrel.
  11. Cora has already said that Price is likely the Game 2 starter, but it might change depending on who we're playing. So yeah, he'll be ready.
  12. Any pitcher that tells a Yankee player to get the f___ back in the box is okay in my book.
  13. Wright is supposedly healthy and ready to pitch in the World Series. I'd be surprised if he's not added back to the roster. I'd keep Swihart on the roster. As someone pointed out, whether he actually gets the playing time or not is not the important factor. The important factor is that it allows Cora to be able to pinch hit for his catchers with no hesitation.
  14. Very cool observation. What kind of 'four' thing can the NL team troll us with before we start this series? LOL
  15. It's been more than a five game postseason series though. And even back when he was still slumping, he was hitting the ball with authority. That said, I don't want him to be traded, and never did. I am happy that he and Price, both of whom have taken more than their share of criticism this year, are having their postseason moments. I am happy for both.
  16. Cora seems to have that magic touch. It must be the analytics that he's using. I was excited about Cora's hiring from Day 1. Dombrowski did good on that one.
  17. Not sure whether he develops stats, but he definitely does statistical research and statistical studies. If you meet the qualifications for the job, then 1. I bow to you, Notin, the Great. 2. You should definitely apply! Once you get the job, you can hire me a your right hand woman.
  18. Yup. We have eliminated the toughest opponents, IMO. That said, the Sox cannot take either of the NL teams lightly (and I don't think they will). Anything can happen in a short series. One game at a time.
  19. I'm sure it's been posted many times already in this thread (which I don't have time to read all of), but I need to give a shout out to Price for coming up huge last night. Right on, David!
  20. That's really too bad. I didn't realize they were such sore losers. And to think, I was really happy for them that they won the Series last year, once the Sox were eliminated. Oh well, suck it up Houston fans!
  21. Apparently, Verlander's been hanging around his whiny girlfriend too long. LOL But I was going to say the exact same thing. I am sure the Astros have benefited from well more than their share of those 'cheap' home runs. At least the Yankees pitchers didn't whine about Vazquez' home run to short right field. At least I hope they didn't.
  22. Ha. Great minds....
