  1. This is my opinion, as well. And Bellhorn's too.
  2. Different reason, different situation. As you know, you manage the World Series differently than you manage regular season games.
  3. I don't get the pregame warm up stuff either. I only go by what I've read. I would not be the least bit surprised if Betts takes 2B reps regularly. Cora has joked about Betts begging to let him play some games at 2B. If Cora doesn't think Betts can handle it, he won't put Betts at 2B. Simple as that.
  4. Very likely. Also, the oddities of the Fenway outfield could be a factor to the Dodgers outfielders.
  5. In the words of Sale himself, "If I'm on the mound, I'm 100%".
  6. LOL You pretty much sewed up our victory in Game 1. Thanks!
  7. Pedroia has been well received in the dugout as a veteran player offering advice and coaching tips to the other players. People really need to get over the Pedroia is a lousy leader/role model thing.
  8. The team got rid of the outfield dance, but now they have the hip twist thing. What's the difference? And then there's the "Idiots" from 2004, along with the whole Cowboy Up thing. Every team has their little thing that they do. Seriously, it means nothing in terms of whether a team is being too silly or not playing with urgency or whatever.
  9. The impression that I get from what the players said after Farrell left is that they weren't having fun. There was too much emphasis on the players' stats each day. I think they were trying too hard most of the time to make something happen, which is what led to many of the so called bone headed plays. I don't believe that last year's team didn't have the desire to win. I'm not buying it.
  10. I really don't see that happening. Either one of them. IMO, signing Machado makes no sense. We are set at 3B for several years. Rather than signing Machado, lock Bogaerts up for a few more years.
  11. They are having more fun this year. I don't think that that means they lacked the fire and desire last year.
  12. Cora is arguably having the best season of any Sox manager. I won't argue that. Does sustained success mean anything in terms of being the best all time manager? What if the Sox don't win the World Series? What if the Sox end up winning 80 games next year and missing the playoffs? Is Cora still the best all time manager?
  13. He chose not to play. That does not show that it was more about the money than his desire to play.
  14. He won't commit to anyone beyond Sale starting Game 1.
  15. I don't know about the fire and desire part. I can't imagine that the guys didn't have the fire and desire last season. That said, I do think that Cora has created a better clubhouse atmosphere than what the team experienced last year. I think last year many of the guys were trying too hard and were unable to have any fun (by their own accounts). You don't have to sell me on Cora. I'm a believer.
  16. It's almost like we're twins sometimes.
  17. You should just bite the bullet, and become a Red Sox fan. You'd be so much happier.
  18. Nope.
  19. I don't think they handled it well. Regardless, it worked out well for the team.
  20. Hanley did everything the Sox asked him to do. To speculate that he might have quit on the field is unfair, IMO. Personally, I think Hanley was very much hurt by the decision to cut him, and I can't say that I blame him. After that, taking some time off to just be with your family makes a lot of sense to me.
  21. My understanding is that it was Hanley's choice not to play with another team. He wanted to enjoy some time with his family.
  22. I know I stand alone, but I was sad to see Hanley go.
