  1. Ah. Thanks. I don't have time to read that many pages of game thread.
  2. It all depends on the price tag. Also, if the Yankees are planning to become less right handed in terms of their line up, then Eovaldi might not be as effective. I would definitely re-sign him, but only at a reasonable cost.
  3. Anytime you leave it in the hands of the umpires to rule on 'intent', it becomes a sticky situation. FTR, I am 100% in favor of retaliation, done the right way, in order to protect your teammates.
  4. There is some truth to this, but I don't think it holds in the case of Machado.
  5. LOL What??? Whatever works JBay!
  6. This is something that needs to be kept in mind (I'm not speaking to you directly) as to why managers sometimes don't make a pitching change or bring in a pinch hitter. Because they know exactly what the opposing manager's counter move will be.
  7. Not bad for someone whom many people (myself included) did not want on the postseason roster. Good for him. And good for Cora for sticking with him.
  8. My guess, along with most people's, is still that Jackie sits 2 games and Beni sits one.
  9. What might be a crazy idea in the regular season can be a good idea in the postseason. The postseason is a completely different animal. For instance, having Eovaldi and Porcello regularly pitch the 8th inning of regular season games would probably be shot down as crazy. Having them do it in the postseason is not the least bit crazy. It's not a matter of people changing their minds or being inconsistent. It's a matter of it being two entirely different situations.
  10. Personally, I would not do it unless we get to that 'dire' stage. So no, I don't really think it's much better of an idea now than it was a couple of months ago. I just said that if it came to it, I think Mookie would be ready, and that you sometimes have to do things in the postseason that you wouldn't do in the regular season. If, by chance, we lose the next 3 games, then it might be a good idea to start Mookie at 2B.
  11. Awesome moment for Nunez. Very happy for him.
  12. Don't really get that either.
  13. Not only did Hanley not bad mouth the team, but he also took the time to congratulate them. There is no evidence whatsoever pointing to him being a bad seed in any way. None.
  14. I was reading something earlier about Sale's postseason ERA and Mookie's postseason OPS, both of which are well below par for them. It goes to show how good this team is when your ace and your MVP are not playing particularly well in the postseason, and yet the team is still 8-2.
  15. Pom is very good about not giving up home runs to lefties. That's the reason he is on the roster.
  16. Even Pomeranz was surprised to hear that he was being added to the roster.
  17. What was great about last night's game was that every time the Dodgers scored, the Sox came back the next 1/2 inning and scored. That really has to dampen the morale of the other team. 'Relentless' is a word we keep hearing about this team. Very fitting.
  18. Happy Birthday Tyler! I hope the Sox give you (and the rest of us) a nice win!
  19. This is my opinion, as well. And Bellhorn's too.
  20. Different reason, different situation. As you know, you manage the World Series differently than you manage regular season games.
  21. I don't get the pregame warm up stuff either. I only go by what I've read. I would not be the least bit surprised if Betts takes 2B reps regularly. Cora has joked about Betts begging to let him play some games at 2B. If Cora doesn't think Betts can handle it, he won't put Betts at 2B. Simple as that.
  22. Very likely. Also, the oddities of the Fenway outfield could be a factor to the Dodgers outfielders.
  23. In the words of Sale himself, "If I'm on the mound, I'm 100%".
