LOL Did you read the qualifications for the job? As much as I like to think that I'm a stat geek, I can't hold a candle to the Mitchel Lichtmans and the Dave Camerons of the world. I should take the Yankees job though. I could really mess them up.

It's the postseason. Take all of the regular season numbers and throw them out the window. The Sox are the better team, but I wouldn't take the Dodgers lightly. One game at a time.

Fan interference - why doesn't MLB do something to prevent it?

I have no argument here. Part of the fan experience is trying to grab a foul ball or a home run ball. Fans are going to grab for those balls. I don't know if there's an easy solution with the way the stadiums are built. -

I'm sure money is a big part of why MLB hasn't done something about it. That said, there's no interference in other sports because baseball is unique to fan interference, isn't it? For several reasons, IMO. You don't have players trying to hit, kick, etc. the ball out of the field of play in other sports, like batters hitting home runs. In other sports, I believe that once the ball is off the field of play, or out of bounds, it's a dead ball. Not the case with baseball. -
If the Sox signed Machado, I would have no choice but to root for him to do well. I don't want to be put in the dilemma. He's a punk. Pass on him. Besides, I like the left side of our infield just the way it is.

I, along with many others, have always felt like your 'closer' should come into the later innings whenever the game really needs saving. If that's in the 7th inning, then so be it. Make it through the high leverage 7th inning, then worry about the 8th and 9th innings when you get there. There's no point in saving your best reliever for a 9th inning save that may never come.

OTOH, I much prefer the 5:00 start time of yesterday's game. Tonight's game won't be over before midnight. I have to wake up at 5 a.m.

Obviously, we would have liked to win 2 at home to open the series, but I'm feeling pretty good about having won one. I think it's very likely that we win at least one in Houston, then as you said, the advantage swings back to us.

I go to the game threads before the game starts and after the game ends, usually the next day. Emotions are running too high during the game.
