  1. This is the right decision. Price will likely pitch very well.
  2. Kimbrel certainly knows how to make things interesting.
  3. Cora is an anti-Doofus.
  4. I would have liked to see Sale come in for the 9th, but I knew there was 0% chance of that happening. I had a shaky feeling about Kimbrel coming into the game, but going to him was the right choice. Thankfully, it worked out in the end.
  5. I would expect nothing less.
  6. I would have left Porcello in for one more inning, but I did not criticize Cora for pulling him when he did. Clearly, the man knows what he's doing. Much more so than any of us.
  7. Agreed. I've seen many worse games called behind the plate.
  8. I don't know that your team needs to be vastly different. You did win 100 games, after all. Not to get all magnanimous and all, but the Yankees have a very good team, and should be good for several years. You guys need starting pitching, so I agree that you will be investing heavily in the rotation.
  9. Ironic that the winning home run was one that beat the Yankees at their own game.
  10. Especially a Red Sox fan on a Red Sox board. LOL
  11. With every fly ball hit somewhat deep by the Yankees, the Yankees fans start cheering like the ball is going out, making me think 'uh oh'. This hit was no different. I was worried.
  12. Yup, not a good look for CC. Angel is terrible, but don't make excuses.
  13. Nah. Cool as a cucumber...
  14. Needless to say, that play was huge! Great stretch by Pearce on the other end. Just imagine if Pearce had been pulled off the bag, or even worse, that throw went into the dugout...
  15. Quit with the strawman arguments. No one ever said that a team doesn't need a good closer. But, this should at least put to bed the idea that we need to sign Kimbrel to a huge contract.
  16. The game was nerve wracking enough from the 1st inning. The 9th inning was way, way, way too much drama. About did me in. LOL If the Sox had blown that game, I would not have been able to sleep last night. Kimbrel is no Koji when it comes to 1-2-3 innings. That said, he got the job done. All's well that ends well.
  17. JD > > > Stanton Thank goodness we didn't take on that contract.
  18. I had a strange feeling that Kimbrel was going to come in, start walking batters, and make things really interesting in the 9th. I was really hoping Sale would come back out for the 9th, but I knew that there was 0% chance of that happening, unless Kimbrel was injured. It's kind of ironic that we always talk about the bridge to Kimbrel being so weak. Barnes, Brasier, and Sale were a perfect 9 up and 9 down, and Kimbrel is the one who semi-implodes.
  19. Isn't that the truth?
  20. No way. Cora knows what he's doing. I'm not saying that I agreed with every move he made, like pulling Porcello after 5 innings, but the dude knows what he's doing. No rookie managing going on in this series, except by Boone.
  21. Obviously, it's easy to say in hindsight, but I liked this move when it was happening. Even though it was not an elimination game for us, my philosophy in these short series is 'all hands on deck'. Besides, one of the broadcasters said that Sale would still be able to start Game 5, if needed.
  22. And Cora's line up changes worked out again. It's uncanny how he seems to have the magic touch with his moves. Nunez, Holt, and Vazquez all with key hits. Not to mention the great defensive play by Nunez and Pearce to end the game. Cora is 100% in tune with what's going on. In Cora we trust!
