  1. The Sox went for it leading up to 2018. And now, here we are. They can't 'go for it' every year, despite what some people think, but they can take a more balanced approach and remain highly competitive year after year. Sustainability is Bloom's buzz word, and I am fully on board with him. I've said it a thousand times and I'll say it again, we need a strong farm system above all else. Having the farm system opens up so much more flexibility, including allowing the team the luxury of signing some larger contracts.
  2. We'll probably never know for sure, but I'm guessing you are absolutely right. Hence the absurd counteroffer.
  3. For some reason, I feel like there's an "Or not" that wasn't spoken (or typed), but I like this thinking. Get the low point out of the way early.
  4. That is the only saving grace to our pathetic start.
  5. The Sox have one of the highest payrolls in baseball.
  6. Per Fangraphs, the Os are projected to score 4.73 runs/game, good for 21st in baseball. They are not the strongest offense, but they far from being the AA offense that you claim they are. They are certainly capable of hitting, as we saw today.
  7. Lucky for you, the Os are due for some losses.
  8. At least Kluber likes him.
  9. I have not seen the new look blonde Kimbrel, but yes, he was previously a red head.
  10. I don't think it was a matter of Cora pivoting based off of the result of Game 1. He stated in ST that he was going to be using a number of defensive alignments. He doesn't have a set alignment.
  11. As I posted before, changing the line up based off of ST games, or even worse, off of two regular season games would be a mistake. The offense should not be a problem for this team.
  12. LOL This has me cracking up. I almost spit my coffee out. Literally.
  13. The same thing happened with Price (and countless others). It's always nice to get that shiny new toy, but more often than not, the shine will fade and the cost will become a burden. If that burden prohibits the team from making future moves, which it inevitably will, then every fan should be concerned about how Henry spends his money. In a couple of years, the Dodgers will be scaling back as well. Things look great for them now, but even with their strong farm system and their large budget, they will pay the price for their big spending.
  14. I don't know. I have gotten to that point. Sour grapes, possibly, but I have been turned off by his quest for making the most money possible.
  15. For some reason, I really like this post.
  16. It's not like ERod is the only pitcher who has ever suffered from a tired arm.
  17. Speculation is to let Houck have another turn since he pitched so well yesterday. This will also give ERod more time to make sure that there won't be any setbacks. Makes sense.
  18. Team defense.
  19. I would rather be optimistic and wrong than pessimistic and right. And please don't respond with any BS about being 'realistic'. LOL I am grounded in reality.
  20. Wait a minute...
  21. Hopefully, that starts today.
  22. As will I. Just so you don't miss me too much over the next few days, I am on spring break and going out of town Monday - Wednesday. Don't worry, I'll be back on Thursday.
