  1. They might not be the best offense in the league, but they are still a major league offense that should be able to hit weak pitching. I watched the pitching. Our pitchers pitched well during both games. Obviously, 2 games is not going to tell you anything about the season, but for these two games, pitching was not the problem.
  2. This isn't going to end well if it keeps going.
  3. Not all Red Sox fans.
  4. No, the overkill was in the first two years that Dombrowski was with the team.
  5. Some of us have been saying this since the beginning of time.
  6. Cora said his velocity was down today, not due to injury. It might be a little longer before we see him start.
  7. Ha. I wouldn't mind you announcing games, but I'll have to pass on the broadcasts from the bathroom.
  8. LOL I expected our defense to be a concern. Very short sample on both sides, but so far, I'm very pleased with what I've seen from our pitchers, starters and relievers, and rather frustrated with what I've seen from our offense. We need to stay healthy. If we can stay healthy, we have a good shot at the playoffs.
  9. Not during the games, anyway.
  10. Jacko is worried.
  11. Stop. It will be all the much sweeter when we eliminate you in the playoffs.
  12. OMG! Because of blackout restrictions on Extra Innings, I am stuck with watching O's games on the local cable channel. Thankfully, Thorne is no longer a part of that team. However, I think whoever that is that took Thorne's place is awful. Terrible. I can't wait to have a NESN broadcast.
  13. Red Sox offense: 0-2. Red Sox defense: 0-2 Red Sox pitching: 2-0
  14. Obviously, it's the pitching.
  15. Absolutely. Not having any Major League teams in the area doesn't help. Unfortunately, there are more Yankees fans in the areas than there are Red Sox fans.
  16. I don't think any of my students have any MLB gear, much less Red Sox gear. I have one student who wears a Red Sox hoodie every day, which I excitedly commented about the first time I saw it, only to be deflated when she told me it was her boyfriend's and that she doesn't watch baseball. LOL I "broadcasted" my Zoom class from Fenway Park today. Again, I don't think my students were as amused as I was.
  17. If you can't watch the Sox win on Opening Day, watching the Yankees lose is the next best thing.
  18. I missed you Slasher.
  19. Not much more false than the other teams in the division.
  20. Pete Abraham @peteabe · 2h Barnes is not regarded as a false positive but was deemed non-infectious. Not trying to give you a hard time about this, but I really want to know how someone can test positive and be non-infectious. Jacko?
  21. I'm not sure why, but my students are just not sharing my excitement for Opening Day! LOL Let's go!
  22. ??? Peopled with antibodies from previously having COVID don't test positive, do they?
  23. I'm sure I would feel differently if it were the Sox, but I am 100% fine with Cash's decision. I would have left Snell in, but I can't blame Cash or the Rays' FO for pulling him.
  24. ^^^100% I will not have any Red Sox players on my team. The Kimmi Fantasy Jinx is a real thing.
