  1. Former Red Sox players as managers this year: Kapler 107 wins Roberts 106 Cash 100 Cora 92 Not bad.
  2. It's hard to picture Bloom spending big on a closer.
  3. The Yankees have a run differential of +41 (for a Pythagorean record of 85-76). They're not some juggernaut being held back by their manager.
  4. With regard to pulling Houck, I believe they had a predetermined pitch count for him. They had taken him out of the rotation to be a long reliever/spot starter. He threw 30+ pitches on the 25th and 40+ on the 28th. He was on a whole new schedule. In my opinion, it took guts by Cora to pull him there and stick to his plan.
  5. Come on, man. The Yanks scored 1 run in the first 8 innings in game 1. Boone was supposed to plan on them scoring 2 in the 9th? And Montgomery had his worst game of the year yesterday.
  6. Your wonderful supportive attitude hasn't changed over the years. Can't say it's good to see you back on the game threads.
  7. Updated Houck with Vaz: 55.1 IP 1.63 ERA .510 OPS Amazing!
  8. How's Winckowski looking?
  9. In spite of Cora, I suppose. What ********.
  10. Not according to the game threaders. I just get angry reading some of their stupid s***.
  11. The Rays had "nothing to play for" the first 2 games of this series either LOL
  12. I don't know, the Rays beat up on the Yankees just as much as they do us or the Jays, maybe worse. The Rays have outscored the Yanks 93-48 head to head so far this year.
  13. Cash hand-picked Boone.
  14. But how do the Rays keep rolling out these no-name pitchers who kick your ass?
  15. The problem with the Yankees may simply be Cashman. A lot of Yankee fans think he's become arrogant and entitled, his job seemingly safe no matter what. And it was Cash who made the somewhat peculiar decision to hire Boone, a man with no managerial experience whatsoever. The theory being that it's Cash actually calling the shots with Boone as his yes-man.
  16. Yeah, first of all, you have to give the Rays a lot of credit for respecting the game by playing hard this weekend. Second, they have had an ongoing beef with the Yankees about HBP's, so I think they have a little added incentive when they play them.
  17. Stroman and Gausman took the QO's last year and it paid off for them, so he might look at that.
  18. I never thought he was. I've asked him a few times who his team is, but he doesn't have the b@lls to answer.
  19. As Weaver said, momentum is the next day's starting pitcher. Which makes perfect sense.
  20. I don't fully buy into it, no.
  21. Wouldn't it be nice if our offense took some of that pressure off...
  22. The way it looks, the Cards would need to do the following to get to the WS: 1) Beat the 104+ wins Dodgers in LA in the WC game. 2) Beat the 106+ wins Giants in the NLDS. Pretty close to a miracle.
  23. The thing about STORK is, he's really stupid for a troll. And that stupidity is probably why he hasn't been banned yet, because his stupidity renders him kind of harmless.
