  1. Yes, that was brutal work by Aaron. I could hardly believe it myself as I watched it unfold.
  2. One thing looks for sure, COVID is hanging a loss on us today.
  3. Well, they can use Seabold in Pivetta's next scheduled start?
  4. You'll have to ask Bloom about the Peacock thing, but until Pivetta got COVID we had 5 healthy starters, so I'm still not sure exactly what your plan for Seabold was.
  5. Ummm, he pitched last night and they just found out about Pivetta today.
  6. Where would they slot him?
  7. To the best of my knowledge, they don't finalize the lux tax numbers until around the end of the calendar year, after all the contract and option dust settles, so to speak.
  8. Well, Valdez not pitching the 9th should mean they can use him again sooner than if he did. Kind of a zero sum game thing there...
  9. I'm reasonably sure the tax rules do not get anyone 'billed twice'.
  10. I think scouts and front offices are more likely to see a guy who's 8th in the league in total bases in spite of his endless flailing LOL
  11. Right now it looks very doubtful that JD would want to opt out, especially with the CBA uncertainty. As for Schwarber, the words 'mutual option' make my head hurt. I just hope he's on the 2022 team.
  12. I always liked Schwarber. Now I love him. Nice get, Bloom.
  13. Yes, especially Whitlock and Houck LOL
  14. The Red Sox winning rally was started by Travis Shaw vs. Bryan Shaw, and ended by Alex Verdugo vs. Alex Young.
  15. I'm just glad I didn't mention before this game that Ottavino hadn't given up a home run all season...
  16. 54 K's and 15 hits.
  17. Could be a committee.
  18. About time Houck notched a win. He deserves one.
  19. They're not trading him.
  20. Is there? I would think in most cases that's a simple matter of physics.
  21. Hunter Renfroe has been tremendous. Fine acquisition by Bloom.
  22. Gallo is having an incredibly disastrous start to his Yankee career.
  23. It has to do with the real production value of free agents in general. It's not trash, you just have to know what you're looking at. "Market value" isn't exactly the most predictable or rational value.
  24. FanGraphs has JD's 2021 season production to date worth $19 million (2.4 WAR). I hope we have both him and Schwarber in the lineup next year.
