  1. Oh, I was laughing. There was another high pitch that he almost failed to catch too. He's an adventure. Glad he's their catcher and not ours.
  2. I'm not sure I've seen any incorrect rectangles. I follow a lot of games on Gameday, and I see some egregiously bad calls there. And this is Major League Baseball's own technology.
  3. A good catcher would have hung onto at least one of those 'wild pitches'. With all our talks of robo umps and how they will reduce the impact of catcher skills, Gary Sanchez is a reminder that sometimes it's pretty important for the catcher to be able to, well, catch the freakin' thing.
  4. Means pitched last night for the Birds, so we'll miss him in the upcoming series.
  5. Until the last 2 games, in which, in 6 PA's, he had 2 hits, a walk, and 5 RBI.
  6. Jerry is a very evil mouse.
  7. Even WAR skews pretty strongly toward offense. As with Jeter and Bogey.
  8. Unfortunately, power surges like this at his age make me suspicious now.
  9. Very few games are easy.
  10. I'd say Red Sox fans have a lot more patience with good hitters/bad fielders than with good fielders/bad hitters. Maybe it's the same with all fans.
  11. 2 rentals. We can add Ian Kinsler to make it 3. I don't necessarily agree with Max's theory, but it's an interesting one.
  12. Yep. Jays are 11-5 Yankees are 11-7 4-2 is par.
  13. Yeah, he only whines about those nasty fans who boo...
  14. I agree, but they're going to go with the system they think generates the most fan interest and money.
  15. You tell him Nick.
  16. Max does have a point, though. In spite of our horrible defense and the effect on the pitching, the team is outperforming expectations. So did Bloom do a great job or a questionable job? I think he did a good job, overall. It's been an enjoyable, if nutty, season so far.
  17. Rodney Freakin' Dangerfield LOL
  18. Winning 2 of 3 in Seattle, after a depressing loss in the first game, is the most encouraging thing we've seen from the team in a while. And you have to like Schwarber.
  19. Bobby is taking walks at last.
  20. Baseball is full of mysteries.
  21. That man on second base rule really adds a note of wackiness to extra innings.
  22. There are lots of losses where the pitching, hitting or defense could all be blamed. The runs calculations are the only ones that have much meaning.
