  1. Well, what if they only go 3-3 in these games? I'm not sure I'd call that a total meltdown, but it could put them in jeopardy. Jays take 2 of 3 from Yankees and go 5-1 overall. That would pass us. 4-2 would tie. Yankees take 1 from Jays and 2 from Rays. They would stay ahead of us.
  2. Too possible to happen.
  3. I think most of us have some reservations about the changes in the way the game is played, but what's the use of complaining.
  4. Yeah but a lot of that is managers relying on spreadsheets that tell them to hook the guy even if he's pitching well. As for Sale, he's coming off TJ surgery so some caution is understandable.
  5. And you fell asleep like Rip Van Winkle after that and missed 2018 and 2019, huh?
  6. Seems to me you were confident in us winning last night and a few other times we've lost.
  7. Makes no difference what any of us say.
  8. God yes.
  9. Especially the second one!
  10. You have a habit of saying things like this LOL
  11. Some of it is just law of averages stuff though. Here's how we ended up against the other 3 AL East contenders: Yankees 10-9 Jays 10-9 Rays 8-11 Total 28-29
  12. That would be hard with the Yanks and Jays playing 3. Could happen of course.
  13. Nope. Just have to accept it as is. I think it's actually been a pretty good year for baseball. Crazy, but no shortage of excitement.
  14. We beat the Jays after the Yankees lost to the Guardians in a shocker, and when the Jays made their last out Dick Stockton said "And we go to tomorrow!"
  15. It's not ironic, it's just stupid and ignorant LOL
  16. Not really buying the 'good old days' stuff. I've been watching since the mid-Sixties, and there were plenty of relatively s***** teams and players back then too LOL
  17. The Red Sox and Yankees have both had roller coaster seasons.
  18. I have no faith. I also have no despair. I just watch and see what happens.
  19. I respect the heck out of what the Rays are doing. But I'll take our 21st century over theirs...and it ain't close.
  20. Yeah, it's a terrible problem. But I'll try to be consoled by the fact that the Red Sox have 4 championships this century and the Rays have zero.
  21. Pina does like interesting. Might only be capable of being BUC though, due to his age and the fact that's what he is with Brewers.
  22. Who has 3 major league starts.
  23. The bottom line is they have 88 wins with 7 games left. They're on target for 92 wins. The real question is, is 92-93 wins good enough? We know it's going to be close, at least.
  24. 571 is 571. Also, Houck has virtually zero experience as a late inning reliever so how can you have confidence that he'd get Rizzo there?
  25. Full time catchers who will be available? I'd like to see some names.
