  1. The problem with the Yankees may simply be Cashman. A lot of Yankee fans think he's become arrogant and entitled, his job seemingly safe no matter what. And it was Cash who made the somewhat peculiar decision to hire Boone, a man with no managerial experience whatsoever. The theory being that it's Cash actually calling the shots with Boone as his yes-man.
  2. Yeah, first of all, you have to give the Rays a lot of credit for respecting the game by playing hard this weekend. Second, they have had an ongoing beef with the Yankees about HBP's, so I think they have a little added incentive when they play them.
  3. Stroman and Gausman took the QO's last year and it paid off for them, so he might look at that.
  4. I never thought he was. I've asked him a few times who his team is, but he doesn't have the b@lls to answer.
  5. As Weaver said, momentum is the next day's starting pitcher. Which makes perfect sense.
  6. I don't fully buy into it, no.
  7. Wouldn't it be nice if our offense took some of that pressure off...
  8. The way it looks, the Cards would need to do the following to get to the WS: 1) Beat the 104+ wins Dodgers in LA in the WC game. 2) Beat the 106+ wins Giants in the NLDS. Pretty close to a miracle.
  9. The thing about STORK is, he's really stupid for a troll. And that stupidity is probably why he hasn't been banned yet, because his stupidity renders him kind of harmless.
  10. I heard some other Yankee fans say the same thing, but I'm not sure it's fair here. He could have used Green or Chapman last night, but Green threw 25 pitches and Chapman threw 22 the game before. If he uses one of them again last night they might be tired, plus he burns them for today, all while chasing a win in a game where his offense has only scored 1 run. It wasn't a slam-dunk decision.
  11. Agreed. Bloom might make a quick multi year offer. It's hard to say exactly what he's going to do this offseason.
  12. Seems like a very strong chance they give ERod a QO. Will he accept it is the question.
  13. Also known as ERod, I think.
  14. I'm sure the BAbip is related to defense. An average BAbip would probably move us another 3 or 4 places maybe?
  15. Well, if I was arguing on behalf of the offense, I'd point out that we're 4th in the majors in runs scored, and 19th in runs allowed. Therefore, I'd argue, we're only 19 games over .500 because of the offense. But obviously there's a little more to it than that.
  16. Why are you even bringing it up? It hasn't been mentioned on this thread for a while. moon was the only one who talked about it and he explained why.
  17. Yes, Mookie's height is the real reason they let him go.
  18. You're making an awful lot out of that pinch hit appearance, aren't you? Only the game before Cora did the exact same thing and Shaw drew a walk. It's just a simple percentage move.
  19. And as you know, we're strongly expecting at least one of them to be in the rotation.
  20. Well no wonder, when they have studs like Zimmerman, Lowther and Wells.
  21. Any thoughts on the Vazquez option?
  22. Well, I hate to get hung up on the CERA thing (LOL), but look at these numbers: Whitlock with Vaz 62.2 IP 1.58 ERA .590 OPS Houck with Vaz 50.1 IP 1.79 ERA .551 OPS We all agree that Whitlock and Houck are keys to our 2022 success. If Vaz is not good with pitchers, how in the heck can these 2 young pitchers put up such amazing numbers with him? You kind of have to answer that question before giving Vaz the boot.
  23. Generally I would agree. For me the issue here is that 'intensity' has a range of definitions and some of them don't contradict calmness. Sometimes being intense means being very focused. That goes with calm.
  24. Also, by happenstance, we're in a long stretch of facing lefties.
  25. One of the things that's unknown is why some pitchers do better with some catchers. It doesn't necessarily mean the catcher is "better". And it certainly doesn't necessarily mean the catcher is smarter.
