As far as Freeman is concerned, I hope the Braves get that deal done so the Yanks can't swoop, because I think Hal might give that one the financial thumbs-up.

The bottom line is, Bloom is probably not going to do anything that the fans want, including moon's persistent requests to trade Vaz. And we probably won't know if we like what he's done until sometime in April, 2022.

Lynn made a catch on a Saturday Game of the Week, it was in Baltimore. A ball that was headed over the fence, Lynn had a long run, leaped and caught the ball on its way over the fence and pulled his glove back in the same motion. It was one of the best I've seen. Here's the clip - it's the second highlight.

$320M, that's easy. We're early in the game, but it remains to be seen whether any $300 million contract will prove to be worth it. As far as I can tell, the most expensive contract that's been clearly worth it is Scherzer's $210 million.

Risk factors are everywhere. Lindor signs with the Mets for 341 million and turns in a .734 OPS. Mike Trout misses most of the season with a strained calf - a strained freakin' calf, on an innocent-looking play.

About risk factor: -Carl Crawford had a much higher WAR for his age when we signed him than Seager has. -Red Sox fans consider the Crawford signing one of the worst, if not the worst, in team history. -Crawford's deal of 142 million is less than half of what Seager is projected to get!

Seager is a fine player, obviously, but they're projecting him to get 300 million. Man, that's a lot of dough.

I wonder if JH decided that the 217 million for Price was the highest he ever wanted to go. When you think about it a bunch of other teams have given out contracts higher than that. Even Seattle!

His existing contract has 4 years and $80 million left. Your offer is reasonable, but in the current market it's probably light. I'd go $150/6, but that would probably be light too!
