It's an odd question when you've only been here a few months. moon was definitely one of the more hopeful posters about the 2021 Sox toward the end when they looked like toast.

Yes, you're right. The $35 mill worst case scenario would only be if they exercise the option.

We might be over the 2022 cap already, after Vaz, Wacha, Paxton, arb raise for Renfroe etc.

No signings of pitchers should inspire anything resembling faith. I do expect Bloom to make well-educated gambles, and I think that's all you can ask. Even if Paxton washes out completely, $35 mill is not going to destroy us. Just my take.

The way I read it, the option covers 2023 and 2024, so 2.3 to 2.5.
