  1. Sox settled with Plawecki for 2.25 mill.
  2. Unfortunately, if a lockout occurs as expected, transactions are shut down.
  3. I think they've definitely done a philosophical re-set.
  4. It's an odd question when you've only been here a few months. moon was definitely one of the more hopeful posters about the 2021 Sox toward the end when they looked like toast.
  5. And you're really becoming a broken record with this.
  6. That's not a problem.
  7. I think that's 100% correct.
  8. Yes, you're right. The $35 mill worst case scenario would only be if they exercise the option.
  9. We might be over the 2022 cap already, after Vaz, Wacha, Paxton, arb raise for Renfroe etc.
  10. No signings of pitchers should inspire anything resembling faith. I do expect Bloom to make well-educated gambles, and I think that's all you can ask. Even if Paxton washes out completely, $35 mill is not going to destroy us. Just my take.
  11. The way I read it, the option covers 2023 and 2024, so 2.3 to 2.5.
  12. I'm fine with it. Still trust what Bloom is doing.
  13. He's great when he's a Mile High. When he's out of Coors, it's a much different Story.
  14. It's the Deadline Like No Other.
  15. Yes, he did a terrible job in that department in games 4-6 of the ALCS.
  16. And he really needs to have a chat with JD about swinging at those low outside breaking balls.
  17. In the words of the classic song by Charlie Rich: "No one knows what goes on behind closed doors."
  18. "Could be fine" - nicely put.
  19. Not sure if the majority are still out there any more.
  20. But are we really worried about the Tigers and Rangers and Mets getting better?
  21. Right, it just seems weird that teams like the Tigers and Rangers are the ones doing the signing.
  22. No, I think it's insane too.
  23. You just have to wonder what all these signings have to do with what's expected in the new CBA.
  24. There's something strange going on...can't wait to find out what it is LOL
  25. Seems like nearly all the big spending is being done by teams that missed the playoffs?
