  1. Possible exceptions: Eovaldi Bogey JDM Wacha Hill
  2. I assume you mean in Red Sox franchise history? I doubt it, but I'll have a peek. The 2020 team was down 10 after 28 games, on a later date of course.
  3. Oh well, it took Henry 20 years to oversee his first tear-down with the Red Sox. Looks like it's going to be a doozy.
  4. For him it's just another opportunity to troll, you know that.
  5. Thanks doc! You knew we needed cheering up.
  6. More torture from the Dead Bats Society so far.
  7. Last 13 games Suzuki is hitting .157 with 18 K's and 2 BB's. Major league pitchers put together a book on him real quick. Now we'll see if he can make adjustments of his own.
  8. Valdez was a possible choice, but recent outings have been less encouraging.
  9. I get your point. But I'm not sure they should keep Whitlock in the pen simply because there's so much dreck there. What you're saying probably would make the most sense for 2022. But in the long view Whitlock should be a starter.
  10. Guys who are going bad may look like they don't care, but they're probably frustrated as hell. Nobody wants to suck in front of millions of people.
  11. "The strategy of hooking starters early only works when the bullpen is really good." - Cap'n Obvious.
  12. The one "obvious" pitcher Bloom acquired was Ottavino, although it was in a quirky deal.
  13. When acquiring free agent pitchers, Bloom seems to look for the less obvious guys. It seems to have worked well with Wacha and Hill, but not so much with relievers.
  14. Cora has to start boosting the pitch counts for starters, no question.
  15. Hill has had a pretty damn good late career.
  16. His joke was more evil than you gave credit for.
  17. This is the Hill you're willing to die on.
  18. I agree with Nick that Whitlock should be starting. You always want your best pitcher starting. That's pretty old school, isn't it?
  19. I think we'll find out very soon.
  20. 100%. They do have to watch his innings, though.
  21. moon agonizes over stuff much more than the average fan. I just go with the belief that Cora and Bloom have pored over the data and in general make good decisions, much better than I would, so I have no need to second-guess them on in-game strategy.
  22. So true. Last night it was Cordero and Bradley.
  23. Great job by Bloom adding 2 years of team control over him.
  24. In the Yankees-Jays game, each team has a perfect mobster name in the lineup. The Yanks have Joey Gallo and the Jays have Vinny Capra.
