  1. Hugh, all you have to do is change the 2023/24 in your signature line to 2024/25 and you're good to go.
  2. He was a minus defender at 2B in his stints with Atlanta too. Of course this move was not about defense. Seems like it was about getting a cheap RH bat.
  3. Griss was worse than replacement level in his 23 games last year, .659 OPS, total absence of power, s***** on defense, but yeah, he's your instant solution to 2B for 2024!
  4. Criswell was a great bargain without a doubt. Henry probably thinks about this signing just before he gets amorous with Linda.
  5. Our pitchers are in the readjustment phase.
  6. The problem as it turns out was that Grissom is still just a prospect, not MLB-ready in the least. His MLB stint in 2023 was horrible. Brez did kind of get scammed on this one.
  7. Melancon was one of those guys who hated the bright lights, for sure.
  8. True, but Casas is a cornerstone player. If they spent a little money on the rotation the need wouldn't be as dire.
  9. Yep. And when you get off to a rough start the shorts get even tighter.
  10. 2B does seem like the place you can sort of stash a weaker player. Like Bellhorn in 2004. Pedroia was a major exception of course.
  11. I wonder who is a better defensive 2B man, Hamilton or Grissom.
  12. Trading Casas is just straight-out crazy talk LOL
  13. If Bailey straightened Garcia out, Andrew should be back in everyone's good graces.
  14. Hamilton has actually been really good considering his pay and experience. 2.4 bWAR and 1.5 fWAR going into today in about half a season's worth of PA's. He's 5th in fWAR among our position players. Let's see if his HR today bumps those WARs a notch. I love that kind of trivial detail.
  15. I remain a doubter. When you look closely at his numbers, the lack of home run power really stands out, even in his minor league seasons with high OPS.
  16. Maybe a mix of happenstance and psychological factor. After a while the guy must have just felt incredibly confident with the bases loaded.
  17. .650 OPS at Woo in 124 PA's. Poor Griss continues to check all the boxes for a disastrous debut season with us.
  18. You have to like Verlander, and his wife too. But yeah, today I wish him no good luck.
  19. Pat Tabler is a deceiving guy. He did color on Blue Jays telecasts for years and at first listen he seemed like a typical ex-player just making a check, but he's actually pretty well-informed and a good analyst.
  20. Yes, I agree absolutely that it's impossible to prove or disprove.
  21. Schilling and Ortiz had incredible postseason resumes. To me they were clutch performers. Postseason offensive numbers are lower on average in the postseason because the caliber of pitching is better, which is mainly because of the off days.
  22. Which are not good starts.
