  1. Three instead of two = Freudian slip?
  2. We're basically a .500 team for the 6 years 2019-2024.
  3. Yeah, of course we're only 2 games ahead of the Rays for 4th.
  4. It's been largely one long series of blunders with the MLB team since that moment in 2019 when Henry lost his marbles.
  5. Campbell is no Mickey Gasper, though! Gasper may take over Dalbec's spot as living testament to the gulf between AAA pitching and MLB pitching. His Woo numbers are pretty insane.
  6. Grissom also seems to have a very similar offensive skill set to Yoshida. I guess that plays a lot better at the 2B position though, assuming his fielding is adequate.
  7. A virtually inexplicable signing by Bloom. We needed starting pitching and he signed 2 DH's - Yoshida and Turner.
  8. I don't think he said anything, but he was aware they were there waiting for him. He didn't break any rules. But it's not a great look and kind of draws unwanted attention. And it is hard to overlook that it's a guy making over $30 million a year. All IMHO.
  9. I think the one criticism that stands is this: if you're not going to talk to the writers, don't make them wait around for an hour to find out. That's just common courtesy. They're only doing their jobs.
  10. It all pretty much adds up to Maestros of Mediocrity. Even Stevens.
  11. June 12-July 14 was by far their best stretch of the season. They won 20 out of 29. And that included a lot of good teams. July 14 was of course the last day before the ASB.
  12. Hey, that historically horrible team scored 32 runs in 7 games off us this year!
  13. There has been plenty of talk here about the prospects of trading Yoshida. The consensus is that we'd have to eat a pretty big chunk of money or take back another team's bad contract. It's definitely one of the issues Breslow has to deal with in the months ahead.
  14. Then we can start stratifying the way we do with #1 to #5 pitchers. 180 IP = workhorse 160 IP = mule Etc.
  15. He could say a few words just to be polite. Like I say, I don't care it about that much. There are some murmurs in the blogosphere that the front office is getting a little displeased about it.
  16. Flaherty should hit 165-170 innings. He's having an outstanding year, really.
  17. I really don't care about it that much. But what happened in this case was more like waiting an hour for your table, then being told there is no table, and there never was a table, so go home.
  18. I have to push back a little. Raffy's behavior after that game was not good. He made the writers wait around an hour thinking he would finally say a few words, but he left without saying anything. And of course it becomes a negative story. He has to do better.
  19. Absolutely incredible how well he's been pitching. And he's been getting better as the season goes on.
  20. By far the best value starter signings this past offseason were mid-priced guys-Lugo, Wacha, Imanaga.
  21. May have to do with the device, maybe you need an app if you're on a tablet or whatever. I'm on my desktop right now and I can access any page (have to skip through 5 pages at a time, much like the previous software). I don't think I can do this on my tablet.
  22. I wonder how that Netflix doc is going? I read somewhere in the Sox blogosphere that the Netflix folks hadn't been seen around the team for a while, like 6 weeks. Maybe it was BS. But who knows. Never a dull moment with the Sox, even when they're mediocre to crappy on the field.
  23. Well, there you have it, folks. The 2024 Red Sox win the season series from the White Sox 4-3, outscoring them 35-32. Not especially impressive against the worst team in history. This would be an appropriate time for someone in the Sox media to write something truly brutal and possibly draw a reaction from Henry or Kennedy.
  24. To me Dalbec is one of those guys who demonstrates how tough MLB pitching is. Here's a guy who's been able to consistently mash in AAA (albeit with high K rates), and who did have some early success against MLB pitchers. But they figured him out, apparently. He seems like a good guy, have never heard any words of complaint or frustration or anything. I hope the rest of his baseball life is a good one, whatever or wherever it is.
