  1. I agree. Let's see how we do this week.
  2. The team knows what it's doing in my opinion. They're more patient and conservative than fans and they don't overreact to small samples.
  3. bWAR says: Trout 7.2 Altuve 6.9 Betts 6.6 Donaldson 6.4 Machado 5.6 Mookie's WAR jumped by .5 yesterday.
  4. Consistency is a hobgoblin. But seriously, as Kimmi noted on the other thread, Farrell did have more reason to conserve the pen Friday with Buchholz starting Saturday .
  5. Tito and Williams should both be very high. Not many managers have won more than 2 titles in the last 50 years.
  6. By the end of May JBJ had batted 6th 7 times.
  7. Trade Pedroia already.
  8. That's because the advanced fielding metrics revealed that Jeter had poor range, especially by the time Cano came along.
  9. Get ready for some MVP chants.
  10. Gotta love having a couple of .390 hitters at the bottom of the lineup.
  11. Some of Ben's best moves were for nothing: Wright, E-Rod, Leon. It was the expensive moves that did him in.
  12. Sandy Cobb.
  13. I agree with you, I'm just not sure how they can fit him into their 2017 plans. Seems like they're grooming Moncada for third base. Plus we have Shaw. The only spot for Pablo would seem to be DH, and his bat may not be good enough for that.
  14. Actually I do know Herzog said it. But from now on when I mention this I'll say 'Whitey Herzog and notin'.
  15. He's certainly not unhittable but he's fashioned a pretty decent career with that motion. I'd happily bring him back for 2017.
  16. I think Mookie would still be hitting leadoff if the offense in general hadn't been struggling. It also had a lot to do with Xander struggling.
  17. You missed the word 'prime' that I so carefully inserted.
  18. I don't really know for sure. But you can't make the plays at second much better than Pedroia has for us. How would a tandem of prime Omar Vizquel and prime Pedroia look?
  19. I think it was Whitey Herzog who was asked what was the difference between a good manager and a bad manager and promptly answered 'A good bullpen'.
  20. I shall tone nothing down! This board is one of the few places I can assert my existential freedom to be a jackarse once in a while!
  21. You must really like the color gray then. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I don't find them super-ugly, it's more a case of not being able to get over how gray they are and why they decided to go that route.
  22. Good job boys. Also, I think Arizona might have the grayest uniforms in the history of sports uniforms. They really went all in on gray.
  23. Papelbon has been released by the Nats.
  24. Double bingo, lads!
