  1. Young stinks.
  2. I'm skeptical only because it's been such a rare feat for anyone to play 2 sports at the big league level. I can only think of 3: Bo Jackson Neon Deion Danny Ainge
  3. I think I misunderstood your point. My only point was that TBSB is Captain Obvious. I think he even used 'Brooklyn Bob' as one of his innumerable handles on BDC.
  4. I ain't no scout, that's for sure...I don't even pay that much attention to the coverage of prospects. I just defer to the judgment of the team unless and until there is very persuasive evidence that they f***ed up.
  5. #MookieLeads
  6. I don't disagree that the pitching is still by far the biggest concern. But I do think we'll score more runs with Benintendi in left field than we would with Holt/Brentz/whoever. If we score even 5-10 more runs that might be the difference between playoffs or none.
  7. Like I say it all helps. We're not far from being a playoff contender.
  8. The real issue has been losing too many games, some because of the offense and some because of the pitching.
  9. You don't have to be a sleuth to spot TBSB though...
  10. Benintendi was a big contributor in last night's win, though. All contributions in all departments matter.
  11. Bogey has been slumping. Since July 1 he is hitting 258/320/402. If you want to juggle his spot right now it would make more sense to move him down in the order.
  12. The best thing would be for the current rotation to live up to its potential. The current 5 could be pitching for us for the next few years if all goes well.
  13. People just didn't realize how advanced he is. I didn't either, to tell the truth.
  14. Nice 9-1 combination...Beni and the Betts.
  15. Rules to live by.
  16. Mookie's OBP since July 1 has been much higher than those guys, so that idea is out the window. Mookie's just about the only guy we have who hasn't been struggling. Moving him in the order isn't going to accomplish anything.
  17. I like it.
  18. Damn, I'm in too.
  19. The word desperation has been tossed around quite a bit this year. If the reasons they moved him up were that they thought he was ready and that he would improve the team and that they would really like to make the playoffs, does that add up to desperation?
  20. Looks that way - fine work by our moderator.
  21. When Price takes the mound now you can't help but wonder 'what kind of weird s*** is going to happen this time?'
  22. Definitely better than 55%.
  23. His record on trades and FA's with the Cubs has been outstanding: Arrieta, Lester, Lackey, Rizzo, Zobrist, Fowler. Heyward has been a bust so far but it's early.
  24. I still think Theo is pretty good in spite of the failed signings. I think Theo even said himself that if you are 55% successful on FA signings you're doing well.
