    I was raised on the multiple heartbreaks of the '70's Red Sox. The darkness is still in me.

    Great team, I remember them well. They started 38-9. I think it's way, way too early for the '18 Red Sox to be compared to great starts in history.

    Farrell could probably get another job as a pitching coach, easy, if he was willing to accept that role again.

    Issues between players and the press have been going on as long as there's been baseball. Last year Farrell needed to make Price apologize to Eck and put the thing to bed instead of letting it fester like it did.

    It's always easy to have 20/20 hindsight, but it looks like a lot of the issues fall at Farrell's feet. He handled the Machado-Pedroia thing poorly and he handled the Price-Eck thing poorly.

    The amazing Harold Reynolds thinks the Yankees may need to do something about the hitting background in the Stadium because Stanton seems to have trouble seeing the ball there.

    Cora may be grooming Johnson to be the classic swingman - pitching long relief and ready to start a game whenever necessary. Johnson doesn't look like much but he really knows how to pitch.

    Well, one of the things we heard this offseason was that a lot of the crappy teams weren't interested in getting better, that they would rather tank completely. So we may see some really big spreads in W-L records this year.

    It's not a must win but it does feel like kind of a big game for Price. If he doesn't bounce back from the last one the haters will be out in full force.

    Not even domes are safe in this kind of epically s***** weather. The Jays had to postpone tonight's game because ice was falling from the roof in the Rogers Centre.

    IIRC, the stories at the time were that a) HRam could have gotten more; the Giants were willing to match our offer but Pablo preferred Boston.

    Big difference from last year's incident though. This year they did it right. Last year they didn't do it right at all.

    Not that there's necessarily any logic to the pricing in the free agent market.

    In 15 games we've only had 2 bad starts by our rotation, 1 by E-Rod and 1 by Price.

    Possibly, yes. I'm not sure he's exactly fat though. He's definitely bigger.
