  1. The economic disaster of HanRam's option vesting is being overstated a bit. Even if it happens, the $22 million comes back for the years 2020 and every year after that.
  2. Although he reached them last year and that was without being fully healthy. 50/50 proposition maybe.
  3. That's fine, but I think we can all agree that's there a huge difference between winning the division and making it to a wild card game. Some folks on this board don't even consider the wild card games to be the playoffs.
  4. Nope, matter of opinion, and a minority one, I would say.
  5. 2013 Koji, yes. That Koji was unbelievable.
  6. Yep, the words '6 years of team control' bring tears of profound, almost inexpressible joy to her eyes. (Just teasing ya, Kimmi.)
  7. Yes, I think it's time to start hoping for a healthy Hanley turning in one of those big seasons he has had. He looks like he's highly motivated but also having fun.
  8. Great comment by Remy on how Hanley wisely didn't try to pull it.
  9. Yes, you've already said this many times.
  10. He's just expressing his frustration about Swihart not playing more.
  11. With all the off days and Pomeranz due back he might not get another start.
  12. Yeah, many people say baseball is boring too.
  13. dgale is a very reasonable fellow. But there's no way it will be a smooth ride to winning the division. It's doable obviously but tough. A smooth ride to winning the wild card, perhaps.
  14. Let's be reasonable, Moreland will play, we know that. At minimum, when JD plays OF, HanRam DH's & Moreland plays first. Plus Moreland is late inning defensive sub for HanRam. And obviously Moreland is also insurance for HanRam injury.
  15. Ouch. Gabe just might take over the #1 spot from Butch Hobson on the 'Worst Managers who Played for the Red Sox' list.
  16. Here's my position: If Hanley hits 3.0 fWAR this year, he earns the vesting option.
  17. Yeah it's weird scheduling. But you guys will play the Rays same number of times as us. And they're not gonna get any better.
  18. Makes your teeth rattle, amongst other unpleasant things, if I recall correctly.
  19. Aha, the old concern-troll-reverse-mojo ploy. I've used it myself. The Yankees are too freaking awesome to let us get much of a lead, you know what. Right back atcha.
  20. Ah, let's face it, there's no reliever that really makes us feel comfortable outside of Kimbrel, and even he makes people nervous at times.
  21. But does a great closer (or a great late inning bullpen) have any impact at all on close game randomness?
