  1. I don't hate on him, I'm more like 'fingers crossed' when he pitches, regarding his health and effectiveness. Last night was great news on both counts.
  2. Do you hate that 2013 trade worse than the Bagwell trade?
  3. ??? If this was Ben's 5th best move it doesn't speak very well for him. Melancon had a -0.2 fWAR in a Red Sox uniform, then was traded to Pittsburgh for Hanrahan and had 3 excellent seasons for Pittsburgh.
  4. There's nothing about him being injured. I assume he'll be starting the 4th or 5th game out of the break.
  5. Probably his second-best move, after signing Koji.
  6. Like everything else, *******s fall into different categories. There are harmless *******s, and there are heavily armed *******s.
  7. I think I read somewhere that there are more guns than people in Texas.
  8. It's a reasonable idea, but Herrera's numbers have actually been quite erratic the last 2 seasons. He has pitched like crap since the trade to Washington. It's only 10.2 innings, but it's something to keep an eye on.
  9. It's a non-starter all around. Keep trying, though, folks.
  10. No way in hell MLB would allow such a blatantly obvious attempt to circumvent the tax. Any team with tax issues with a player who suffers a long-term injury or just stops being good would be able to try the same stunt.
  11. For God's sake don't mess with SoxHop. The guy lives in Texas.
  12. Yeah, that's sort of like asking how hard Carson Smith could throw a glove if he really let fly.
  13. Same. Yanks have enough right handed bashers as it is.
  14. LOL I'm not a fan of the Meh thing either. It's kind of passive-aggressive.
  15. This is some good news.
  16. 5 bodies altogether. Seems crazy. I have to think the Dodgers believe this will help them sign Machado long term.
  17. Yeah, I just don't get it.
  18. So start with a list of the big spenders who will clearly have an opening at closer next year. That would be a little more scientific than just talking about 'fools errands'. I'm pretty sure DD loves Kimbrel and is giving this a lot of attention anyway.
  19. Ah, good old Social Media. Who woulda thunk that giving just about everyone on the planet with an internet connection and the ability to keypunch a couple of sentences the opportunity to express their thoughts to the world 24/7, unblocked and uncensored, no matter what condition they're in, and have their statements captured for posterity, could possibly go wrong?
  20. There's also a town in Italy called Bastardo. Different cultures see things differently, I guess...
  21. You're right, it's a fair question. The Yankees shelled out 86 million for Chapman and the Dodgers 80 million for Jansen. So that's 2 of the biggest spenders out of play. And I'm not sure how many other teams are willing to spend anywhere near that for a closer.
  22. That'd be less than Wade Davis got (3/52).
  23. Trouble with the Gyroball really sucked.
  24. Just to be clear, we're already about 40 million over the luxury tax limit of 197 million. What's being discussed is the 237 million threshold which brings in a whole other set of penalties.
  25. Looks like the Raptors are being idiots. Not a big surprise though.
