  1. What were the Red Sox projections for 2013 BTW?
  2. Ben must have been about the flukiest GM ever though.
  3. I really don't think I've ever said anything close to this.
  4. If it's that simple, the team that won under Ben was compliments of Theo. And the teams that won under Theo were compliments of Duquette. No, I don't think that's quite fair.
  5. That covers it. At a glance there were also some others who ended their careers with over 20 bWAR: Scott, Torrez, Spaceman, Stanley.
  6. But most of the money is already down the tube.
  7. Yep, 40+ lucky World Series appearances.
  8. Well, I'm a numbers guy. Show me some numbers that support your position about how bad the pitching is now. Because I certainly can't find them.
  9. The 1978 team was arguably the best Red Sox team ever roster-wise. Hall of Famers and near-Hall of Famers coming out of its ears.
  10. more value than Sandoval, Hanley and Castillo combined.
  11. I really didn't know what to expect before 2015. I was shocked when Pablo and Hanley were announced on the same day and I was doubly shocked when Ben assembled that rotation. I thought it could go well or it might go very wrong. That's what I mean about Ben and his X factors.
  12. The happiness of winning titles does not last very long at all for most fans. You're absolutely right about that.
  13. The question is how good of a potential future those players represent.
  14. I'm talking about the 11, not the 111.
  15. "Getting too far into the weeds" - I like this. What can really be a mess is when you get too far into the weeds and you've also been smoking weed.
  16. Slowly but surely things seem to be looking up for JBJ with the bat.
  17. So you're saying: -The ball is juiced -Scoring is down -But pitching is terrible
  18. Yeah, the regular game thread posters are beside themselves with happiness. You can see it in their every post.
  19. The ERA gap from top to bottom this year looks huge only because of Houston. Their ERA is 0.60 better than second place. Take out that massive outlier and see if it's much different than previous years.
  20. How'd they make out getting those last 9 outs with a 5-3 lead last night? Sorry man, there was just no way to resist that.
  21. Also a back-to-back last place team with 15 players with World Series rings.
  22. They read like a Grumpy Old Men's Club meeting.
  23. Tell me something jung, if major league pitching is so awful, how come the average ERA in baseball is only 4.10? Let me guess. Major league hitters are even worse, right?
  24. Just gimme the 11, thanks.
